GridKing
GridKing is a grid EA for AUDCAD H1. It enters on an RSI mean-reversion signal, adds further levels every 22 pips against the basket with a mildly rising lot and closes the whole basket at a small total profit. A basket stop at 20% of the budget is active by default.
Full description
**How it works**
- First entry: when RSI(14) on the chart timeframe is at or above 55 the EA sells, at or below 45 it buys. All positions of a basket have the same direction.
- Grid: if price moves 22 pips against the last level, the next level is opened. The lot grows linearly: lot = base lot x (1 + level x 0.18). This is a mild progression, not a doubling martingale.
- Exit: the whole basket is closed as soon as its profit (price plus swap) reaches 0.40 per 0.01 base lot in account currency.
- Basket stop (default 20%): if the open loss of the basket reaches 20% of the budget, the basket is closed. This realizes the loss but protects the account from the typical grid blow-up in a long trend.
**Lot size and budget**
- Automatic base lot from a budget: at risk level 1 the EA trades 0.01 base lot per 2,500 of budget (10,000 → 0.04). Risk level 2 doubles, level 3 triples the lot.
- Budget: full balance, a fixed amount, or a percentage of the balance. This lets GridKing share an account with other EAs.
- Caps: max levels per basket (60), max total lots, stop new entries below a balance level.
**Filters**
- Trading days can be switched on and off individually; the first Friday of the month (US jobs report) is skipped by default.
- Optional maximum spread for new entries.
**Safety checks**
Before every order the EA checks the trading session, the symbol's trade mode, the account's order limit and the free margin, and rounds the lot to the broker's volume step. If there is not enough margin, the entry is skipped and logged.
**Info panel**
Balance, equity, free margin, open basket (positions and lots), floating result, realized profit today/week/total and the current budget.
**Recommendations**
- Symbol: AUDCAD, H1 chart. The default settings were tested for this pair.
- Account: hedging account (a grid holds several positions at once). Low spreads and commissions matter, because each basket targets only a few pips.
- Keep the basket stop on. Run the EA on a VPS.
- Test it yourself with "Every tick based on real ticks". Tests on 1-minute OHLC data look much better than real-tick tests for this kind of grid.
**Test results (please read)**
Strategy Tester, IC Markets, H1, 10,000 USD, 0.04 lot (= risk level 1), basket stop 20%, every tick based on real ticks, 2 Jan 2025 – 30 Sep 2026, commission included:
- AUDCAD: +2,439 USD, profit factor 1.60, 2,518 trades, maximum equity drawdown 6.6%.
**Risks**
- A grid buys against the trend. In a long one-way move the basket grows until the basket stop closes it with a loss of up to 20% of the budget at once.
- If you switch the basket stop off, a single trend can wipe out the account.
- Many small wins and a few large losses: the win rate says little, the equity curve shows the risk.
- Results depend strongly on spread, commission and execution of your broker.
- Past results do not guarantee future results. Trading with leverage can lose more than the deposit.

- Close basket at this profit per 0.01 base lot (default 0.40, account currency)
Entry signal
- RSI period (default 14, chart timeframe)
- RSI level for a first SELL (default 55) and for a first BUY (default 45)
- Keep the direction of the first basket for all later baskets
