Hun Red Robin Hunter MT4
Hun Red Robin Hunter MT4 is an Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 4 that combines TRIX-based trading signals with configurable market filters, ATR-based stops and automated position management.
It is designed for EURUSD, GBPUSD and XAUUSD on the M15 timeframe, with a separate parameter preset for each instrument. This is the MT4 edition: it uses the same strategy logic as the MT5 edition, adapted to the MT4 order model. Results on the two platforms are not interchangeable.
Trading Strategy
The EA evaluates entry signals on completed candles. You can choose between two TRIX signal modes:
-
Zero-line crossover.
-
TRIX and signal-line crossover.
Optional ADX, moving average, RSI and higher-timeframe TRIX filters define the conditions required for an entry. Each filter can be configured or disabled.
The EA manages one position at a time per instance. Optional settings let you invert the trade direction, or close the open position and attempt a reversal when an opposite signal appears.
Main Features
-
ATR-based stop loss and take profit: Initial stop distances adapt to market volatility.
-
Risk-based position sizing: Lot size is calculated from your risk percentage and the initial stop-loss distance, using either account balance or equity.
-
Entry controls: Configurable maximum spread and minimum ATR can block new entries in unsuitable conditions.
-
Margin checks: Required margin is checked before opening a position.
-
Break-even and trailing stop: Optional tools move the stop loss as a trade goes into profit.
-
Partial profit taking: Close a configurable share of the position at a chosen reward-to-risk level, with an optional move to break-even.
-
Trading schedule: Select trading days and configure London, New York, Tokyo and Sydney session windows.
-
Server-time handling: Choose NY-close, fixed-offset or live automatic time mode, including daylight-saving logic.
-
Daily risk controls: Block new entries after a configured daily loss threshold or consecutive-loss limit is reached.
-
Higher-timeframe filter: The multi-timeframe TRIX filter supports several timeframes. Timeframes that MT4 does not offer natively (H2, H3, H6, H8, H12) are built from H1 candles.
-
On-chart panel: Shows spread, ATR, indicator values, session status and risk-lock status.
Operational Features
The EA stores key position-management and daily risk-control data in terminal global variables to support recovery after a terminal restart.
A duplicate-instance guard helps prevent two charts from running the EA with the same account, server, symbol and magic number. If a broker does not accept stop levels in the initial order request, the EA places the order and then sets the stops. If the stops cannot be set, it closes the position.
Requirements and Setup
-
Platform: MetaTrader 4 (build 600 or newer), hedging-style MT4 accounts.
-
Configure the server-time settings for your broker.
-
Spread, slippage and minimum ATR settings are in points, not pips.
-
Use a different magic number for each additional instance on the same symbol.
-
For the daily consecutive-loss counter, set the Account History tab to "All History".
-
In the Strategy Tester, use NY-close or fixed-offset time mode. Live automatic time mode is not supported in the tester.
-
Test your selected settings on a demo account before using the EA on a live account.
Important Notes
The daily loss control compares account equity with the stored day-start balance. It can block this instance's new entries and optionally close its own position. It does not manage or close other positions on the account. The consecutive-loss counter resets at the start of each server day.
When a partial close is executed, MT4 assigns a new ticket number to the remaining position. The EA tracks this automatically.
Indicator values, spreads, execution and trading costs differ between brokers and between MT4 and MT5. The EA's behavior and results can therefore differ from the MT5 edition.
Risk Notice
Trading involves risk. Risk settings and stop orders do not guarantee a maximum realized loss, because slippage, spread widening and execution conditions can affect results. Results depend on market conditions, broker execution, trading costs and the selected parameters. Historical performance does not guarantee future results.
