Twin Alchemy is a multi-engine MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor built specifically for XAUUSD and XAGUSD.
It combines dedicated price-action engines for Gold and Silver with a Cross-Metal Divergence engine that compares the relationship between the two metals in real time.
Gold and Silver often move together, but they do not always confirm each other. Twin Alchemy is designed to use those differences as additional market information rather than treating the two metals as completely unrelated markets.
One EA. Two Metals.
Twin Alchemy supports two operating modes.
Single Metal
Trades only the chart metal.
Attach the EA to XAUUSD and it trades Gold. Attach it to XAGUSD and it trades Silver.
The opposite metal can still be loaded as read-only reference data for the Cross-Metal Divergence engine, allowing Gold to use Silver for analysis and Silver to use Gold for analysis without opening trades on the companion metal.
Dual Metal
One EA instance manages both:
- XAUUSD
- XAGUSD
Each metal retains its own strategy configuration, risk settings, spread protection and magic number.
Cross-Metal Divergence
The Cross-Metal Divergence engine is one of the defining features of Twin Alchemy.
It compares normalized Gold and Silver price movement and looks for situations where one metal makes a meaningful new price extreme while the other fails to confirm it.
The engine evaluates the strength of the divergence, the quality of the price extreme and the subsequent reversal behaviour before allowing an entry.
A divergence alone does not create a trade.
The traded metal must still provide its own price-action confirmation.
Either Gold or Silver can generate the setup depending on where the valid condition develops.
Multiple Independent Trading Engines
Twin Alchemy does not rely on a single entry pattern.
Gold / XAUUSD
Active Gold engines include:

Gold and Silver were researched separately.
An engine that performs well on Gold is not automatically forced onto Silver. Strategies that did not produce acceptable results on a particular metal were disabled rather than being kept simply to increase the number of available engines.
Price Action First
Twin Alchemy focuses on structured price behaviour rather than relying on a large collection of lagging indicators.
The strategy logic evaluates areas such as:
- momentum
- pressure
- reversals
- continuation
- rejection
- pullbacks
- recent highs and lows
- candle close location
- relative Gold and Silver movement
- cross-metal divergence
Individual Risk Control
Gold and Silver can be configured independently.
Two position-sizing modes are available:
Fixed Lot
The EA trades the lot size selected by the user.
Risk Money
The EA calculates position size from the protective-stop distance and the selected monetary risk.
An optional Maximum Portfolio Risk can also be used to restrict combined exposure when more than one position is active.
Trade Management
Twin Alchemy uses structured protective stops and trailing-stop management.
Only one active position per metal is allowed at a time.
Twin Alchemy does not use martingale lot multiplication or aggressive grid recovery.
Spread Protection
Gold and Silver can have very different spreads depending on broker conditions and market liquidity.
Twin Alchemy therefore provides separate maximum-spread settings for:
- XAUUSD
- XAGUSD
If the current spread exceeds the configured limit, new entries can be blocked until conditions improve.
The integrated spread panel also allows recent spread behaviour to be monitored directly on the chart.
Economic News Protection
Twin Alchemy includes an optional economic-news filter with support for:
- MT5 Economic Calendar
- External
- External with MT5 fallback
The filter can block new entries around selected scheduled events using configurable before/after periods, currencies and impact levels.
For the external news source, MetaTrader 5 WebRequest permission must be enabled for:

Strategy Tester Note
Live economic news data is not available inside the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester in the same way as live trading.
This is a limitation of the testing environment, not a failure of the EA. The trading strategy itself can still be tested normally.
Integrated Control Panel
Twin Alchemy includes a visual dashboard displaying:

Trading Schedule
Twin Alchemy includes configurable trading hours and entry restrictions.
New setups can be stopped during selected periods while existing positions continue to be managed.
Recommended Timeframe
Twin Alchemy was developed around:
M15
Changing the trading timeframe can materially affect trade frequency and strategy behaviour.
Alternative settings should therefore be tested before live use.
Broker Compatibility
Brokers may use prefixes or suffixes for Gold and Silver symbols.
Twin Alchemy includes symbol-resolution logic designed to identify XAUUSD and XAGUSD where possible.
Users should still confirm their broker's:
- contract size
- tick size
- tick value
- minimum lot
- lot step
- leverage
- spread
before live trading.
Backtesting And Forward Testing
Backtests are useful for studying strategy behaviour, but they do not guarantee future performance.
Live results can differ because of:
- spreads
- execution
- slippage
- liquidity
- broker conditions
- historical-data quality
- changing market behaviour
The Cross-Metal Divergence engine also relies on Gold and Silver market data, so sufficient historical data for both metals is important when testing.
Forward testing on a demo account or under small-risk conditions is strongly recommended before increasing exposure.
Losing trades and losing periods are a normal part of systematic trading.
