XAU Alpha Session – STD is a fully automated Expert Advisor (EA) engineered for disciplined, rules-based trading on the Gold (XAU/USD) market. The EA is designed exclusively for the M30 (30-minute) timeframe and operates within a defined trading session window centered on the New York market open, capitalizing on structured price behavior during one of the highest-liquidity periods of the trading day.
The system combines session-based price structure analysis with a sophisticated dual-position management framework, delivering a professional-grade trading approach with built-in capital preservation mechanisms.
Core Trading Methodology
The EA identifies a key reference candle at the start of the New York session (09:30 NY time) and uses its price boundaries to define the structural context for the trading day. It then monitors subsequent price action for directional breakouts and confirmation retests before committing to any trade — ensuring entries are backed by both momentum and structure validation rather than raw breakout chasing.
All trade decisions are made on closed candle data, eliminating noise from intra-candle wicks and ensuring signal integrity.
Dual-Position Architecture
Each valid trade signal triggers a synchronized dual-entry system, opening two simultaneous positions with distinct risk-reward profiles:
- Position 1 targets a conservative reward ratio, designed for high-probability closure and immediate capital recovery.
- Position 2 targets a more extended reward ratio, designed to capture larger market moves while being protected by a dynamic stop-loss mechanism.
Once Position 1 reaches its target, the EA automatically activates a Profit Lock on Position 2 — relocating its stop-loss to a defined positive profit level. This ensures that even if the market reverses before Position 2 reaches its full target, the trade still closes with a net positive outcome.
Stop Loss Configuration
The EA supports two configurable stop-loss methodologies:
- Midpoint Method: Uses the midpoint of the reference candle as the structural invalidation level.
- Structure Method: Uses the full high or low of the reference candle for wider stop placement.
Trade Frequency & Session Management
- A configurable maximum number of dual-entry cycles is enforced per trading day.
- An optional "Stop After First Win" rule halts further trading once a profitable outcome is recorded.
- After a loss, the EA re-evaluates conditions and permits an additional trade attempt if the daily limit has not been reached.
Equity Protection System
A multi-layered equity protection module safeguards the account against excessive drawdown:
- Daily Drawdown Limit: Suspends trading if equity falls beyond the configured daily threshold.
- Monthly Drawdown Limit: Suspends trading across multiple subsequent days if cumulative monthly losses exceed the configured limit.
Technical Safeguards
- Spread Filter, Slippage Control, Account Type Enforcement, Timeframe Enforcement, and DST-Aware NY Time Conversion are all built into the system's core architecture.
