How it works
Big market players need liquidity. Many traders place their stop orders just above important highs and just below important lows. Price often runs briefly through these levels, triggers the stops - and then turns around. This is called a "liquidity sweep".
Gold Liquidity Sweep detects these moments on recent highs/lows and on the previous day's high/low. It only enters when the sweep happens in the direction of the higher-timeframe trend, so it trades the pullback within the trend, not against it.
Backtest results
MT5 Strategy Tester, "Every tick based on real ticks", XAUUSD H1, 01/2022 - 10/2026, start capital 10,000 EUR, fixed lot 0.50:
- Net profit: +21,512 EUR
- Profit factor: 1.73
- 127 trades, win rate 46 %
- Maximum equity drawdown: 21.5 %
- Sharpe ratio (MT5): 5.22
Test results can vary slightly depending on your broker's tick data and spread.
Good to know
- The EA is selective: about 2 trades per month on average. Quiet weeks are part of the strategy.
- The strategy performs best in trending gold markets; the strongest growth in the test came from mid-2025 onwards. In sideways phases, expect flatter periods.
- Win rate is below 50 % by design - the profit comes from winners being about twice as large as losers. Up to 10 losses in a row occurred in the test.
- Results shown are backtests. Live results can differ due to spread, slippage and market conditions.
- Developed and optimised for XAUUSD H1 only.
