Day and Week Separators draws vertical lines at the start of each day, week and month on intraday charts, with an optional day-of-week label at each line. It is a small visual aid that makes it easier to see where one trading day ends and the next begins.

How it works

- Day, week and month separators each have their own switch, colour and line style.

- When several periods start on the same bar, only the strongest line is drawn: month over week, week over day.

- The trading day can start at the broker's server midnight (default) or at any server hour you choose. On a broker whose server runs at New York close + 7 hours, the default already matches the usual 17:00 New York forex day.

- A new week is detected when the weekday of the trading day goes backwards (for example Friday to Monday) or when a full week has passed.

- Labels show the day of the week (Mon, Tue and so on) next to each separator.

- Older separators are removed automatically, so the chart stays light. You choose how many to keep.

- Separators sit behind the candles and cannot be selected by accident.

Inputs

- Separators: day, week and month on/off, colour and style.

- Day start: server hour.

- Display: day-of-week labels, label colour, separators to keep, bars to scan.

Limits

- Drawn only on intraday charts; on D1 and higher nothing is drawn.

- A day that starts inside a bar is marked on the next bar.

- It only marks time periods. It does not give trade signals.
