<p><b>Gold Trend Sentinel EA</b> is a set-and-forget trend-following robot for XAUUSD (Gold). It trades SMA 13 / SMA 20 crossovers on the H1 timeframe, confirmed by the latest SuperTrend direction and an ADX trend-strength filter. It works the same on any chart timeframe, because it always reads H1 data.</p>
<p><b>How it works</b></p>
<ul>
<li>A fresh SMA 13 / SMA 20 crossover on a closed H1 candle is the trade signal: crossing up = buy, crossing down = sell.</li>
<li>An entry is allowed only if the most recent SuperTrend flip (however old) agrees with the crossover direction.</li>
<li>Optional ADX filter: entries are skipped when ADX is below the threshold (default 25), so the EA avoids ranging markets.</li>
<li>A new trade is opened only when no position is open.</li>
<li>The opposite crossover closes the open trade, with no filter needed for exits. If all entry filters agree, a trade in the new direction can follow.</li>
<li>A signal that appears while the market is closed is executed when trading reopens.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Risk management</b></p>
<ul>
<li>No fixed stop loss or take profit. A trade is closed only by the opposite crossover, so a losing trade can stay open until the trend changes. Choose your balance with this in mind.</li>
<li>Emergency exit: if the account's margin level falls below 200%, the EA closes its position before the broker's stop-out can happen. This protects against a stop-out, not against large losses.</li>
<li>One position at a time. No martingale, no grid, no averaging.</li>
<li>Free margin is checked before every order, and no trade is opened while the market is closed.</li>
<li>Lot size is set once per calendar year from your balance ($400 = 0.01 lot) and locked for that year. You can switch this off and use a fixed lot.</li>
