Argus — Confluence-Based ICT/SMC Trading System for XAUUSD

Argus is an Expert Advisor for XAUUSD (Gold) built on Inner Circle Trader (ICT) and Smart Money Concepts (SMC). Instead of trading on a single signal, it combines five independent market observations into one weighted confluence score, and only opens a position once that score clears a configurable threshold.

How it works

Argus evaluates the following elements on every new bar:

  • H4 trend bias (higher-timeframe directional filter)
  • Liquidity sweep detection (buy-side/sell-side liquidity) on M15/M5
  • Order Block proximity to the detected Fair Value Gap
  • Fair Value Gap quality
  • Retracement into a configurable Fibonacci zone after the sweep
  • (optional) session confidence during the London/New York kill zones

Each element contributes a weighted score; a trade is only opened once the combined score exceeds the Score Threshold input. This is intended to reduce the number of low-quality, single-signal entries that are common in fast-moving Gold price action.

Risk management

  • Daily loss limit (% of balance, enabled by default)
  • Consecutive-loss stop
  • Maximum trades per day
  • Maximum stop-loss distance as a percentage of balance
  • Optional spread filter and economic calendar filter
  • Maximum of 2 simultaneous open positions
  • Partial take-profit with move-to-breakeven, optional trailing stop

The figures below come from the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester using real tick data (modelling quality 99%). They are backtest results, not live account results.
