EventStrike

An automated trading Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5, designed to trade price movements following selected major economic announcements.

EventStrike focuses on five event groups: US Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP), US Consumer Price Index (CPI), and monetary policy announcements from the Bank of England, Reserve Bank of Australia, and Reserve Bank of New Zealand.

Rather than predicting the announcement or market direction in advance, EventStrike responds to the price movement that occurs when an event is released.

Key Features and Benefits

Focused event trading

EventStrike trades only its five supported event groups. It does not continuously open trades during normal market conditions.

Reaction to post-release price movement

Before an event, the EA places pending orders above and below the current market price. When one order is triggered, it cancels the opposite pending order.

Early exit for weak or fading moves

EventStrike evaluates the first 15 seconds after entry. If the initial move is insufficient, or if an initially favorable move loses momentum, the EA attempts to close the position early.

Partial profit taking and trailing management

When a position reaches the defined profit level, EventStrike closes 50% of the position. The remaining 50% is managed with a trailing stop, allowing the trade to remain open if the price movement continues.

Automatic volume adjustment

The EA can reduce trading volume according to pre-event market conditions and the selected event. It does not use averaging down or Martingale position sizing.

Important Trading Considerations

Major economic announcements can cause wider spreads, slippage, delayed execution, and reduced liquidity. Results may differ between brokers and accounts, even when the same EA settings are used.
