KD SMC Mini Charts

KD SMC Mini Charts embeds two live, SMC-aware sub-charts directly inside your MetaTrader 5 workspace, allowing you to monitor an additional entry timeframe and an additional trend timeframe without switching tabs.

This tool is designed to keep higher-timeframe context visible while you focus on a lower timeframe — addressing a common source of execution mistakes: losing sight of the broader trend while viewing a fast-moving chart.

Key Features

  • Picture-in-Picture Dual Mini Charts: Display two additional timeframe views directly inside the main MetaTrader 5 chart without opening separate chart windows.
  • Canvas Rendering: Renders at approximately 15–30 FPS, displayed cleanly over background indicators, in both live trading and Strategy Tester.
  • Two Stackable Timeframe Slots: A primary slot (for example, M1 for entries) and a secondary slot (for example, H1 for trend), each independently collapsible.
  • SMC Toolkit Included in the Mini Chart: Candles, ZigZag swings, HH/LL labels, BOS/CHoCH, current and higher-timeframe zones, Fair Value Gaps with 50% Consequent Encroachment, dynamic trendlines, Equal Highs/Equal Lows, and EMA.
  • Real-Time Trade Overlay: Entry, Stop Loss and Take Profit lines for open and pending orders, plus buy/sell markers and position history.
  • Bid/Ask Lines with Live Spread: Displays the current bid/ask spread on the mini chart.
  • Interactive Header Controls: Collapse, zoom, shift the view, or fit the display to Stop Loss/Take Profit levels using on-chart buttons.
  • Live Chart and Strategy Tester Support: The same dual mini-chart layout can be used during normal chart operation and visual testing in MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester.

Synergy with the KD Trading System

KD SMC Mini Charts is the 2nd pillar of the system, providing the multi-timeframe view:

  1. KD Ultimate SMC: Supplies the structure logic this tool displays on additional timeframes.
  2. KD SMC Mini Charts (This Tool): Displays higher/lower-timeframe structural context alongside your main chart.
  3. KD Auto SLTP: Its Stop Loss/Take Profit preview lines are mirrored onto the mini charts.
  4. KD MTF VWAP: Its VWAP and standard deviation bands can also be viewed on the mini chart's timeframe.
  5. KD MTF Candle Timer: Displays bar-close timing alongside the countdown.
  6. KD HTF Candles: Can be compared against what is forming on the mini chart's own timeframe.
  7. KD MTF Dashboard: Can be reviewed for a trend reading on the symbol before opening a mini chart for further review.

Practical Use Cases

Use Case 1: Reviewing Higher-Timeframe Bias While Trading a Lower Timeframe

  • Setup: Main chart on M5 or M15; primary mini chart slot on M1 for entries; secondary mini chart slot on H1 or H4 for the broader structure.
  • In practice: Review the point of interest on H1 in the secondary slot. Consider an M1 trade only when M1 structure aligns with the H1 order flow direction.
  • Purpose: Helps keep entries in line with the higher-timeframe order flow, rather than reacting to isolated lower-timeframe movement.

Use Case 2: Confirming Structure Shifts Before Entry

  • Setup: Main chart on M15 approaching a key support/resistance zone or Order Block; primary mini chart slot open on M1.
  • In practice: Rather than placing an order as soon as M15 reaches the zone, review the M1 mini chart for a shorter-timeframe CHoCH forming together with a new Fair Value Gap.
  • Purpose: Provides an additional layer of confirmation before entry and allows a comparatively tighter stop-loss placement than the M15 timeframe alone would allow. Actual risk-reward outcomes depend on market conditions.

Use Case 3: Identifying a Liquidity Sweep and Reversal Pattern

  • Setup: Enable Reclaim detection and Equal Highs/Equal Lows display on the primary slot (M1/M5).
  • In practice: When price moves beyond a prior high/low or an Equal-High/Equal-Low zone on the main chart and then closes back inside the range, the mini chart marks this with a Reclaim label.
  • Purpose: Helps identify a common liquidity-sweep-and-reversal pattern as it forms, for the trader to evaluate.

Use Case 4: Viewing Multiple Timeframe Zones Without Extra Charts

  • Setup: Enable Dual-HTF Zones and Dual-HTF FVG display on the mini chart.
  • In practice: The M1 mini chart projects the support/resistance zones and Fair Value Gaps from two higher timeframes (for example, M5 and M15) onto itself.
  • Purpose: Lets you see when an M1 candle is reacting inside an M15 Fair Value Gap or an M5 Order Block, without needing to open several separate chart windows.

Use Case 5: Using Equal Highs/Equal Lows as a Take-Profit Reference

  • Setup: Enable Equal Highs/Equal Lows display on both mini chart slots.
  • In practice: Equal High/Equal Low zones are marked, indicating areas commonly associated with clusters of stop-loss orders.
  • Purpose: These zones can be used as one reference point for Take Profit placement, since they are commonly associated with liquidity being taken out. This is a reference only, not a guaranteed target.

Use Case 6: Monitoring Risk Levels Across Both Charts

  • Setup: Run KD Auto SLTP on the main chart alongside KD SMC Mini Charts.
  • In practice: Entry, Stop Loss and Take Profit preview levels, along with the nine alert lines from the main chart, are mirrored onto the mini charts. Once a position is open, the live Stop Loss, Take Profit and spread are also shown there.
  • Purpose: Allows you to monitor lower-timeframe price action near your Stop Loss/Take Profit on the mini chart while adjusting risk levels on the main chart, with both views kept consistent.

Use Case 7: Visual Multi-Timeframe Review in Strategy Tester

  • Setup: Run an Expert Advisor backtest or manual chart review in MetaTrader 5's Strategy Tester.
  • Context: The Strategy Tester's default Visual Mode displays only one timeframe at a time.
  • In practice: Using its canvas rendering, KD SMC Mini Charts displays two additional sub-charts within Strategy Tester.
  • Purpose: Allows traders and developers to review a multi-timeframe approach visually during backtesting, similarly to how it appears in live trading.

User Settings & Customization

  • Assign any timeframe independently to each of the two slots.
  • Resize, reposition, and collapse or expand each mini chart.
  • Toggle the trade overlay, bid/ask lines, and hover tooltips individually.
  • Enable or disable Liquidity Reclaim labels and Equal Highs/Equal Lows display per slot.
  • Enable or disable Dual-HTF Zones and Dual-HTF FVG projection.
  • Match the color palette to KD Ultimate SMC for a consistent appearance across both tools.

KD HTF Candles projects transparent higher-timeframe candle bodies and wicks (e.g., H1/H4) directly onto your lower-timeframe chart, allowing you to view higher-timeframe candlestick patterns while trading a lower timeframe. Reviewing a higher-timeframe candle typically requires switching charts, which can interrupt focus on the execution timeframe. This tool displays the higher-timeframe candle directly on the lower-timeframe chart. Key Features Transparent HTF Overlay: Semi-transparent higher-

KD MTF Candle Timer is a timing utility for MetaTrader 5 that counts down to bar close across multiple timeframes simultaneously, intended to help anchor entry decisions to a confirmed candle rather than mid-bar price movement. Waiting for Confirmed Closes: Many discretionary trading approaches call for waiting until a candle closes before acting, since mid-candle price action can reverse before the bar finishes. KD MTF Candle Timer is a utility to help apply that habit consistently. Key Feature
