GridIron is a fully automated grid trading system designed specifically for AUDCAD and NZDCAD. These two pairs share a structural relationship that produces reliable mean-reverting behaviour during normal market conditions — and GridIron is built to trade that behaviour systematically, 24 hours a day, from a single chart attachment.

Why we built it
Several well-known grid systems already trade these pairs. We've used them. They work — until they don't.
The weakness common to most grid EAs on AUDCAD and NZDCAD is a lack of situational awareness. They open positions, add to losers, and wait for reversion with no regard for whether current market conditions are actually suitable for a grid strategy. In calm, ranging markets that's fine. In a fast, news-driven directional move it becomes a serious problem.
CAD pairs are uniquely exposed to this. The Canadian Dollar reacts sharply to oil prices, commodity flows, and North American trade policy. In early 2025, tariff-driven volatility produced exactly the kind of sustained directional move that exhausts grid depth before any reversion occurs. Systems without safeguards took significant damage. Systems that could recognise the conditions and step back did not.
GridIron was built with that lesson already incorporated.
How it works
GridIron enters the market and scales into positions as price moves, then closes the entire basket for a profit once the market reverts. The core logic is straightforward. What differentiates GridIron is what sits around that logic — four independent safeguards that govern when the EA is allowed to act and when it must stand down.
Four safeguards. All independent.
1. Volatility Filter
Monitors real-time market conditions and blocks new basket entries when volatility is outside the system's normal operating range. During news events, data releases, or sustained trending conditions, GridIron steps aside rather than opening into a hostile market.
2. Depth Limit
Caps the maximum number of positions the EA will add to a single basket. If the limit is reached, the basket is closed immediately. Worst-case exposure is known in advance and does not grow beyond it.
3. Time Limit
Any basket open beyond a configurable number of hours is force-closed regardless of P&L. Positions do not sit open indefinitely waiting for a reversion that may not come.
4. Equity Circuit Breaker
If account equity drops below a configured percentage of the starting balance, the EA closes everything and halts. It will not restart until you re-attach it. This is the last line of defence and is designed to never be needed — but it is always active.

Risk disclosure
GridIron is a grid-style EA. Grid systems carry elevated drawdown risk, particularly during sustained trending conditions. The four safeguards are designed to limit this risk materially — but they do not eliminate it. Past behaviour in testing does not guarantee future live performance. Always run on a demo account before committing real capital. Never risk money you cannot afford to lose.
