Strategy Concept: Breakout Strategy Capturing Initial Momentum
GOLD LIMIT BREAK is a trend-following automated trading system designed to capitalize on the strong momentum seen in assets like Gold (XAUUSD).
It captures the initial movement of a breakout beyond a defined high/low range using stop orders. It then employs a dynamic trailing stop based on the ATR (Average True Range) to strictly limit risk while trailing profits effectively.
1. Quad-Layer: Up to 4 Independent Strategy Slots
This EA does not rely on a single logic. It features the ability to run up to 4 independent "strategy slots" simultaneously within a single instance.
- Flexible Timeframe Settings: Each slot can be independently configured with its own timeframe (M1 to MN1) and trading direction (Long & Short / Long Only / Short Only).
- Portfolio Effect: By combining different strategic perspectives—such as mid-term trend following on H4 (Long Only) and breakout trading on D1 (Long & Short)—the EA diversifies risk internally.
- Strict Position Limits: Unplanned averaging down (Nanpin) and Martingale are strictly prohibited. Each strategy slot is limited to holding only one position at a time.
2. Limit & Break: Dynamic Calculation and Trailing
To adapt to changing market conditions, the EA calculates entry and exit criteria based on real-time price data rather than fixed pip values.
- Real-time Calculation of Reference Values: Entry prices are determined based on the highest high and lowest low over a specified lookback period.
- Offset and ATR Integration: A buffer (Offset) is added to the breakout line to reduce false breakouts. Furthermore, the Stop Loss (SL) and Take Profit (TP) distances are dynamically calculated using the ATR to match the current market volatility.
3. Ultimate Validation: MQL5 Compliant Fail-Safe Features
The EA is equipped with robust protection mechanisms designed for various broker environments and the strict validation requirements of the MQL5 Market.
- Dynamic Margin Check: The software simulates the future margin level assuming all pending orders are triggered, proactively blocking errors caused by insufficient margin.
- Volume Limit Protection: It monitors the broker's maximum volume limit for the symbol (SYMBOL_VOLUME_LIMIT) and automatically adjusts or skips order placements if the limit is exceeded.
- Stop/Freeze Level Monitoring: The system detects server freeze level restrictions (when the price is too close to the SL/TP) during order modification or closure, ensuring safe execution without log errors.

- Lot Mode: Select the lot calculation method: Fixed, Auto, or Risk %.
- Risk Percent: The maximum acceptable risk per trade (%) when Lot_Risk is selected.
- Max Long/Short Total: The maximum number of concurrent positions allowed across the entire EA.
- Cooldown Mins: The waiting time (in minutes) before resuming entries after a loss.
- Max Holding Mins: The maximum holding time for a position (in minutes). If exceeded, the position is forcibly closed by a time-out (Set to 0 to disable).

- Timeframe: The base timeframe for the strategy slot.
- Mode: The operational state of the strategy (Disabled / LongShort / LongOnly / ShortOnly).
- Lookback Period: The number of past bars used to determine the high/low reference for the breakout.
- Offset: The distance (in pips) to place the order away from the calculated high/low line.

- SL / TP ATR Multiplier: The multiplier for calculating the initial Stop Loss and Take Profit based on the ATR.
- TS ATR Multiplier: The ATR multiplier that triggers the start of the trailing stop.
- Trailing Step: The step size (ATR multiplier) for the trailing stop to follow the price.
