April 2025 is a partial month. Monthly profit and loss is assigned according to each trade's closing date.
Historical Monthly Account Balance
The table illustrates the progression of the simulated account from its initial $10,000 balance to $16,738.50.
It also shows periods of declining performance, particularly during the final months of 2025, followed by recovery during 2026.
The table indicates monthly closing balances based on completed trades. It does not include the floating profit or loss of open positions at each month-end.
Understanding Historical Drawdown
Drawdown measures declines in account value during trading. Different drawdown measurements describe different aspects of risk.
In this historical test:
-
Absolute Balance Drawdown: $540.50. The largest decline in closed-trade balance below the original $10,000 deposit.
-
Absolute Equity Drawdown: $841.00. The largest decline in account equity below the original deposit, including floating profit and loss.
-
Maximum Equity Drawdown: $2,337.50 (16.65%). The largest historical decline in equity from a previously reached peak.
The maximum equity drawdown does not mean the account fell $2,337.50 below its original deposit. It represents the largest decline from an earlier equity high.
For example, an account that grows from $10,000 to $14,000 and subsequently declines to $11,662.50 has experienced a $2,337.50 peak-to-trough drawdown, even though it remains above its initial deposit.
These figures describe the historical testing period only. Future drawdowns may be larger, and traders beginning at different dates may experience different results.
Recommended Configuration For Testing
-
Platform: MetaTrader 5
-
Currency Pair: EURUSD
-
Chart Timeframe: M1
-
Account Type: Hedging
-
Default Trading Volume: 0.01 lots
-
Default Maximum Spread: 2.0 pips
The EA has three adjustable inputs:
Lots: Sets the fixed trading volume for each position.
MaxSpreadPips: Defines the maximum permitted spread for opening new trades.
MagicNumber: Identifies the EA's positions to distinguish them from other trades.
Position Sizing and Margin Requirements
EURUSD Market Edition uses a fixed lot size selected by the trader. It does not automatically increase or decrease trading volume based on account equity.
The historical results presented above use 0.50 lots on a $10,000 account. This configuration is provided as a performance example, not as a universal recommendation.
At this trading volume and leverage, margin utilization can be substantial. The historical test experienced approximately 50% deposit load during part of the testing period.
Increasing trading volume increases potential profit and loss, required margin, and the risk of margin-related restrictions or forced position liquidation.
The EA's default 0.01-lot setting offers a smaller initial exposure for evaluation, but no lot size guarantees safety or profitability.
Users should select trading volume according to their account balance, leverage, broker margin requirements, and acceptable risk.
Trading Characteristics
The strategy seeks relatively short-term trading opportunities and has historically generated a high proportion of winning trades.
However, the strategy can also experience occasional losing trades that are substantially larger than its typical winning trades.
Consequently, the historical 91.90% win rate should not be interpreted independently of the profit factor, drawdown, and overall risk exposure.
Trading frequency and results can vary significantly across market conditions.
Backtesting Environment and Trading Costs
The historical tests were performed using MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester in a live-broker account environment, rather than using verified live trade execution.
The tests used real-tick modeling and ideal zero-latency execution.
The exported transaction report recorded zero commission and zero swap charges. Therefore, the published results should not be interpreted as including every possible live-trading financing or administrative expense.
Actual results may differ due to broker spreads, commissions, swaps, financing charges, execution delays, slippage, liquidity, and changing market conditions.
Important Risk Disclosure
EURUSD Market Edition is an automated trading tool, not a guarantee of investment returns.
Forex trading involves substantial financial risk, including the possibility of losing part or all of the trading capital.
Stop-loss and take-profit orders are intended to manage positions but cannot guarantee execution at a specific price under every market condition.
Historical backtesting results do not guarantee future profitability. The performance shown is simulated and should not be represented as verified live-account trading performance.
Users are encouraged to test the Expert Advisor on a demo account, understand its trading characteristics, and select appropriate position sizes before considering live trading.
