Important Note on VIX Filter Usage
The VIX panic index filter is one of HydraPure's key risk management components. It automatically pauses trading during extreme market panic, helping to avoid systemic risk events. For live trading, it is strongly recommended to keep this feature enabled.
However, since most brokers do not provide complete historical VIX data, it is recommended to disable UseVIX during backtesting to avoid data availability issues that may affect test results. When switching to live trading, simply enable it again to activate the VIX filter's protective function.
Backtest Performance
HydraPure has been fully backtested using Dukascopy genuine historical tick data (2018.01.01 — 2026.08.29). Dukascopy data is renowned for its strict standards, with tick granularity and accuracy significantly higher than MT5's default data, providing a more realistic reflection of slippage and execution quality in live trading environments.
Detailed backtest results are shown in the screenshots below. Please note that any EA claiming zero drawdown or exponential growth should be viewed with caution — there is no risk-free trading system in financial markets.
Only one stop-loss event occurred during the entire backtest, on October 15, 2024, caused by the global financial "black swan" event triggered by the Korean Peninsula conflict. Such systemic risks cannot be completely avoided through strategy optimization, but have been effectively contained within HydraPure's multi-layer risk control framework, keeping losses within acceptable limits.
