Lycan is an automated Scalping system optimized for XAUUSD (GOLD) on the MetaTrader platform. The EA does not use grid or martingale recovery methods. It applies volatility-based stop loss protection and rule-based filters (spread, news, and session) to select scalp trade opportunities using confirmed breakout strength, rather than relying on high-frequency or recovery-based entries.


Core Principle: No Grid, No Martingale, Dual Scalp Strategy System
Lycan does not add to losing positions, does not average down, and does not increase lot size to recover previous losses. This approach is a deliberate design choice intended to keep risk exposure predictable per trade.


Must Read:

LYCAN includes built-in margin safety - it automatically checks your free margin and account equity before opening each trade, and will reject or reduce trades if opening them would risk over-leveraging your account. This is why higher Risk % settings may result in fewer simultaneous trades, larger positions use more margin, so the safety system activates sooner to protect your account from dangerous exposure, especially if multiple pending orders were to trigger at once. This is a deliberate safety feature designed to protect your account.


Broker and setup notice:

  • I will no longer share signals or results from Non-ECN, high-spread accounts.
  • I don't recommend them for this kind of scalping.
  • LYCAN works best on a Pure ECN account with low spread.
  • Please also use a VPS. Fast, stable execution matters a lot for scalping.

Recommended Settings:

  • Symbol: XAUUSD (Gold)
  • Timeframe: M5
  • Minimum Deposit: 150 USD at 1:200 leverage or higher (Gold's margin requirement means lower leverage will need a proportionally larger deposit - see Notes below)
  • Broker type: A low-spread ECN broker is recommended (e.g. IC Markets)
  • Account type: Hedging account required (not compatible with netting-only accounts)
  • Works best during the New York session, when gold typically sees its highest volume and volatility
  • A VPS is recommended for more consistent execution

eu já não acredito no backtest já experimentei muitos robôs no backtest e no demo ao mesmo tempo ganho no backtest e perda na demo , os ressoltados são diferentes, vou experimentar na demo por alguns meses depois darei a minha nota final

isn't this overfitting? The backtest results from 2022 to 2026 look incredibly good—almost unbelievably so. Yet the strategy blew up in no time during the 2020 backtest. What would real-world live trading actually look like? Has anyone here tried it? If I can achieve solid returns using this, I'll be sure to reward you generously!

Hello Lian, The 2022-2026 doing well doesn't guarantee live results will match. You can check my live signal, it's running on a non-ECN, high-spread broker without a VPS, so just ignore mid-March to July since I was testing another EA (multipair EA, you'll see random pairs there) on that same account by mistake."

Hi kaneyan,I think you mean the backtest works but no trades on live/demo, right? Quick checks: AutoTrading is ON (green button + Algo Trading checked in EA settings)
Check your Start/End Hour settings
Spread might be too high vs your Max Spread input
News filter may be blocking trades near high-impact news

I like the Lycan EA, and with 1.2 update it looks even more promising so i decided to support the author and write a review! Been running it for 2 weeks, and there were pretty tough for almost all my other EAs. Lycan moderate did well on first week, Lycan aggressive better on the second - both are profitable after two weeks on real account (FP Trading ECN).
