How the System Works
TrendCue Smart Trend is designed around a simple trend-following idea:
- The candle colors reflect an internal scoring logic that evaluates market strength and weakness.
- The Chaser Cloud shows the overall trend direction and helps the trader stay aligned with the broader market flow.
- The SuperTrend Trail provides the Buy/Sell signal and stop-loss reference.
- The optional Confirmation Layer can be enabled for traders who want an additional filter.
This creates a clean visual process:
first identify the trend direction, then wait for a signal in the same direction.
Simple Trading Logic
1. Check the direction of the Chaser Cloud.
2. Wait for a Buy or Sell signal from the SuperTrend Trail.
3. Focus on setups where the signal is aligned with the Chaser Cloud.
4. Place the stop loss behind the Trail line or according to your own risk model.
5. Manage the trade based on your personal plan.
Smart Candle Scoring
By default, TrendCue uses three simple candle states:
Green candles = bullish condition
Orange candles = bearish condition
Gray candles = neutral or unclear condition
These colors are generated by an internal scoring model that evaluates the current market condition and helps the trader read trend pressure directly from the chart.
Chaser Cloud
The Chaser Cloud is the main directional filter of TrendCue and should be checked before any signal.
By default:
Green Cloud = bullish direction
Red Cloud = bearish direction
When the Chaser Cloud is green, traders focus on Buy signals.
When the Chaser Cloud is red, traders focus on Sell signals.
This keeps the workflow simple:
first follow the cloud, then wait for a signal in the same direction.
SuperTrend Trail and Signals
The SuperTrend Trail is used for both signal timing and stop-loss planning.
Buy and Sell signals are most relevant when they appear in the same direction as the Chaser Cloud:
Buy with a green cloud.
Sell with a red cloud.
The Trail line can also be used as a simple stop-loss reference.
One of the cleanest setups is the first aligned signal after the Chaser Cloud changes direction, because it may appear near the early stage of a new trend.
Optional Confirmation Layer
The Confirmation Layer is an optional filter for extra trend confirmation.
It is turned off by default, so the main workflow stays clean and simple.
When enabled:
Blue = bullish confirmation
White = bearish confirmation
This layer can be activated from the input settings.
Timeframe Recommendation
TrendCue Smart Trend MT5 can be used on any timeframe. For new users, I recommend starting with the M15 timeframe first. It usually gives a cleaner view of the Chaser Cloud, SuperTrend Trail signals and overall trend structure while learning the workflow. After becoming familiar with the system, traders can test other timeframes according to their own trading style.
