Protect your trades from high impact news. Economic Calendar News Guard uses the economic calendar built into MetaTrader 5: before the news it closes your positions and deletes pending orders on the symbols of the news currency, and it closes any new trade opened during the news window.

Big news like Nonfarm Payrolls, CPI or a rate decision can move the price in seconds, with wide spreads and slippage. Many prop firms also forbid trading around news. This EA keeps you out of the market at the right time, every time, without you watching the calendar.

HOW IT WORKS

Attach the EA to any one chart. It reads the MT5 economic calendar every minute.
For each news it opens a window: from X minutes before to Y minutes after (15 and 15 by default).
When the window starts, positions on the symbols of that currency are closed and pending orders deleted. Example: USD news blocks EURUSD, XAUUSD, USDJPY, US30 and leaves EURGBP alone.
A new trade opened during the window is closed at once.
After the window, trading is allowed again. Nothing to reset.

FEATURES

High impact only, or high and medium impact.
Watch all currencies or only the ones you choose (for example USD,EUR).
Ignore news with words you choose (for example Speech).
Block only the symbols of the news currency, or the whole account.
Protect all trades, manual trades only, or the trades of one EA (magic number).
Each action can be turned on or off: close positions, delete pending orders, close new trades.
One warning before the window and one alert when it starts. Popup and push notification to your phone.
No DLL and no WebRequest: nothing to allow in the settings, works with any broker.

THE PANEL ON THE CHART

Status: CLEAR, NEWS SOON or NEWS WINDOW, with the time trading opens again.
The next news with time, currency and countdown. Red = high impact, amber = medium.
Show the news of today only, or of the next 24 hours.
Each news is also a vertical line with its name on the chart.

INSTALLATION

Drag Economic Calendar News Guard MT5 onto any one chart. One chart protects the whole account.
In the Common tab, tick "Allow Algo Trading", and make sure the Algo Trading button is on.
In the Inputs tab, choose the news, the minutes before and after, and the actions. Click OK.

NOTES

News times come from the MT5 calendar in your broker's server time. If the calendar is not loaded yet, the panel shows "WAITING FOR CALENDAR DATA" for a few seconds.
The MT5 calendar does not work in the Strategy Tester, so the EA does nothing there.
The EA works only while MetaTrader 5 is running and connected. Use a VPS for full protection.
The EA never opens trades. It only closes positions and deletes pending orders.
