Thanks, MetaQuotes is working on these issues.
After updating MT4 to build 1491, some EAs and indicators randomly fail to start correctly.
I tested event delivery using a minimal EA with a 2-second timer on nine charts. Timer registration succeeded without errors on all nine, but six instances worked normally while three received no timer events at all. The computer was effectively idle, with no significant CPU load during the test.
With the identical test EA on the same charts in build 1470, all nine worked correctly. My full setup also started correctly on 1470. This strongly suggests a regression in event delivery in build 1491.
I also noticed that build 1491 puts a noticeably heavier load on the computer than build 1470 with the same chart and indicator setup.
Thanks, MetaQuotes is working on these issues.
However, I’m quite concerned about the problems caused by the recent update, especially the crashes and issues with profiles and indicators. Hopefully MetaQuotes can fix these issues as soon as possible, as they can seriously affect our daily trading.
Thank you again for your support and for keeping us updated.
Hi All,
exact same problem with partially loading set of indicators, please can someone update as soon as this is fixed..

Build 1491: Custom indicators are present in the Navigator, but the chart is blank. We're gathering confirmation for MetaQuotes.

Yes, it turned out that they introduced a bug that in some cases appeared when loading EX4.
Update 1492 has been released and is available on MetaQuotes-Demo and via automatic web update.
We apologize!

it works
Observed environment: IC Markets (SC) MT4 build 1491, portable mode, Windows 10 Pro x64. Initially six H1 charts: EURGBP, EURUSD, USDCAD, AUDCAD, AUDNZD, AUDUSD. A later test used newly opened charts and a new saved profile, with USDCHF, USDJPY, CADCHF, CHFJPY, EURNZD and GBPNZD. The symptom occurred in both profiles. A clean-installation and different-build comparison have not yet been performed.
Attached minimal reproduction: MT4_EventProbe_1.000.mq4 and its EX4. Compiled with MetaEditor 5.0.0.2425, 0 errors / 0 warnings. EX4 SHA256: F0A69D9E138D9E40C611E867E7AB1E1C94BB164FD52AD179A4B64FDA89369895.
The EA has no imports, includes, indicators, license checks, trading calls, custom file I/O, terminal global variables, loops or Sleep. OnInit registers a 10-second timer and returns INIT_SUCCEEDED. OnTick increments a counter and logs its first two calls. OnTimer logs counters. OnDeinit logs final counters.
## Reproduction
1. Attach the same probe to all six charts, with no other EAs or custom indicators attached.
2. Observe for at least 60 seconds. Flush Experts logging with Experts -> right-click -> Open.
3. Restart the test terminal, leave its six probes attached and capture another observation. Repeat as needed because the symptom is intermittent.
Expected: each successfully initialized instance receives recurring timer callbacks even if no new market ticks arrive.
Observed on 2026-10-05, using local Experts timestamps:
- First attachment, 23:18:18-23:18:40: all six instances logged TIMER_REGISTER ok=1 error=0 and INIT_END. EURGBP, USDCAD and AUDNZD received no tick or timer callbacks until terminal shutdown at 23:21:26; DEINIT confirmed timers=0 ticks=0. Other instances received callbacks.
- Restart at 23:21:45: all six worked. At 23:25:29 every instance had timers=22 and nonzero tick counters.
- Restart at 23:27:28: all six again logged successful timer registration and initialization. EURGBP and AUDUSD received no recorded tick or timer callbacks through 23:35:53, over eight minutes after initialization. The other four reached timers=50 with nonzero ticks: EURUSD=32, USDCAD=1641, AUDCAD=1517, AUDNZD=53. The user also observed price changes for the affected symbols in Market Watch; the probe does not independently sample quotes.
Evidence does not establish a particular implementation defect or prove that this is a build regression. It demonstrates missing callbacks in a minimal EA without proprietary trading code on this installation of build 1491.
Additional new-profile test: all six newly opened charts worked immediately after manual probe attachment around 23:43. Following restart at 23:46:29, all six again registered timers successfully and completed initialization at 23:46:33, but USDJPY and CADCHF had no recorded tick or timer callbacks through 23:47:43. The other four each reached timers=7 with nonzero tick counters. Thus the original profile/chart content and original set of symbols are not necessary for the symptom.

An indicator-startup issue on build 1491 was reproduced and reported to MetaQuotes by moderator Alain Verleyen on 2026-10-04:

The relation between that indicator report and this EA event-delivery symptom is unconfirmed.
Package contains only this report, the standalone probe and filtered EVENT_PROBE log lines. It excludes trading/account logs, profiles and license files. Nothing has been submitted externally by Codex.
