Install limitation for indicators

hey.
last night I installed the indicator on a device, today I realized that it does not work. in order to fix the problem I uninstalled the meta trader 4 and reinstalled it and installed the indicator again. this time it worked but it counted as a new device on the indicator install limitation. the device was the same but why it counted for me? I will give you the device serial number if it is necessary. the fact is I am worried about future cases. what if I reinstall my operation systems on my devices. then every install would be counted and it is not fair. each device right of having the indicator must be secured. I have the indicator on 3 device but it is counted as 4 devices.

It is the problem. I installed the indicator on 3 PCs the but it shows 4 installtion in the installtion count. The question is "why is that happen?".

I asked the author but he/she told me that it is up to the site's selling policy, not him/her.

"You may need to move previously purchased application to another terminal. For example, you may use several client terminals on one or several PCs.

If you use several terminals on a single PC, copy the application's ex5 file to a similar folder of the target terminal. For example, you should copy a file from [original client terminal]\MQL4\Indicators\Market to [target client terminal]\MQL4\Indicators\Market.

Where did you see installation count?
Because there are the activations, and the activations are not installations.

Activation will be lost because of the following:

• install the purchase on new comouter or on any external VPS,
• computer hardware upgrades (not new computer),
  
• or the Windows key updates in your computer,
• or if you login as administration on your computer (in the Windows operating system, different authorization methods provide different system configurations: authorization by a regular user, authorization by the administrator, authorization via remote access.
  

For example, I installed my purchase on 1 computer only but I lost 5 activations after 5 years using it ... because my Windows had big updates and because I login to my Windows as admin from time to time.
And it is nothing to do with installation count (I install it on 1 computer only).

I have several computers to do my trade strategy. I ran the  indicator on them and it worked properly . I shut it down late night. When I tried to use the indicator on the third computer, it did not work. I tried it several times but still the same. I uninstalled the meta trader 4 and installed it again and activated the indicator once again on the same version of meta trader on the same computer but suddenly I got another activation alert. This is the problem. Same computer, same condition but counted as two activations for me. Now I have three metatrader 4 on three PC but it consimed 4 activations only because the day after some saftware issue made me to reinstall the metatrader on my pc. Am I clear this time?

Yes.
But it is nothing to do with installation count.
And yes - it is related to how many computers you have. But please take into consideration some other factors which I explained on post #4

The activation can not be lost "for nothing" - I explained all the reasons here on post #4 (and as you are old user of this forum registered here more than 4 years ago so - you should know about it).

But it was lost for me for nothing. That's the problem I am talking about. I activated same indicator on same computer on same version of metatrader 4 twice in less than 24 hours without anything to be changed and it counted. That is what it is.

It can not be for nothing.

I lost 5 activations on same computer with one installation only.
Why?

• Because my Windows was updated 4 times by itself (I did not update it), and 4 activations were lost because of that.
• Besides, I login/authorized on Windows as administrator instead of regular user ("Open as admin" - remember that?), and one activation was lost as well.

Version of Metatrader 4 (or version of MT5) has nothing to do with it. Because if you activated it on one MT4 instance so you can just copy it on the other MT4 instances within same computer without activation losing.

Where did you see an official info about the fact, that activation is bound to a local user account? All I can find in public sources from MQ refers to a single PC.

The buyer can use the product in several platforms simultaneously, provided they are installed within one PC, on which the product has been activated.

It looks like a bug, if you lost activation by switching a user on the single PC, or MQ's wording is incorrect/misleading.

In the Windows operating system, different system configurations are provided for different authorization methods:

1. Authorization as a regular user

2. Authorization by the administrator

3. Authorization via remote access (even if one of the two accounts listed above is selected)

Therefore, each of these cases requires separate product activation, even if the Windows version has not changed and there has been no hardware update. Check how you are authorizing.
