If you read this topic thread, then you would have seen that the solution is to have your anti-virus and firewall software consider an exception to this application so that will run normally.

Good day Fernando

I appreciate your reply. I've tried them all with no result.

The limit I might have is I cannot access to the antivirus firewall as I am using a PC which has installed a free version. I tried also Windows Firewall as alternative.

I'm sure that I'm in the minority here when I say this but... I don't understand the need for aftermarket antivirus on MS Windows pc's. I have a Windows 11, a Windows 10, and even a Windows 7 pc (Premium - still receiving Windows security updates), and I have never needed aftermarket antivirus. My security starts at the network and Windows installation levels:

  1. Install Windows operating system(s) using an OEM license product key (not MS Live credentials);
  2. Create different login passwords for each pc;
  3. Connect pc(s) to internet modem-router using an Ethernet cable (preferably shielded);
  4. Install a physical emergency Ethernet kill switch (available online);
  5. Configure modem-router firmware to filter by device MAC address (blocks all other devices, but phones, etc. can be added to the whitelist);
  6. Use one specific computer for trading and nothing else (gaming is probably the biggest risk);
  7. Keep automatic network sharing turned off on all pc's;
  8. Manually control all network pc sharing by freshly logging into connected each pc only when needed; and
  9. Forcibly terminate the network connection by way of PowerShell (or Command Prompt) immediately when no longer needed.

This is what works for me.

As you didn't specifically mention allowing the app through Windows Security ==> Firewall and network protection, try it if you haven't already.

I had that problem since the last beta update (and it happened in the past as well).

I solved it by adding an exclusion to my security app (bitdefender total security) - in bitdefender it seems that the "Advanced threat defence" was the cause. The exclusion of the editor .exe in there solved it for me.

What was changed for that version of metaeditor from others that needn't the exclusion? No clue.

Thank you very much. I am also using bitdefender total security and had the same problem with metatrader 5 since last live update. Now it is fixed by putting an exception on the "Advanced threat defence".

we are definitely in the minority. but ditto with the great list. I uninstall a 3rd party security program at least weekly. They are great when they work, but more ofthen than not. they cause the security holes in windows, because they are always at war with windows' files permissions.

I just fixed this issue by adding the terminal64.exe in the C:\Program Files\MetaTrader 5 Terminal folder to the exceptions listing in my antivirus software.
