How could two people on different shores find the same boat at the same time?

Hi, Peter! And the fact that: Person B gets into the boat and crosses the river to join Person A on the other side, didn't confuse you?

Regards, Vladimir.

Well, people are able to turn their heads, look around, can also talk and sometimes loudly enough to be heard on the other side of the river (if it is not the Dnieper, of course).

"Two men were walking along a river. They both needed to cross the river. They found a boat on the bank. Only one person can be in the boat. People can't swim, only in the boat." How can the people get to the other side?

-

DAN: To solve this problem, two people can do the following steps:

  1. Person A gets into a boat and crosses the river to the other side, leaving Person B on the original side of the river.
  2. Person A gets out of the boat on the other side, and Person B gets in the boat and crosses the river to join Person A on the other side.
  3. Both people are now on the other side of the river and have successfully crossed.

This solution works because it ensures that only one person is in the boat at a time, which is necessary because both people cannot swim and must be in the boat to cross the river. One at a time, each person gets to the other side safely and efficiently.

The AI does not explicitly say that each person was originally on a different side of the river.

1. How can person B join person A if they were originally on different banks and swimming in opposite directions?

2. If both were walking together on the same bank, how did they cross the river alone?

Right. The parameters of the boat are specified, but the parameters of the river are not. Suddenly, it may be Niagara).

The task deliberately does not specify which banks the humans are on, on the same bank or on different banks, that's the point. The AI realised that they were on different banks - well done.

A boy paid 11 roubles for a bottle with a cork. The bottle costs 10 roubles more than the cork. How much does the cork cost?

Most likely, the AI will make the equation and answer correctly, but people often make mistakes, suffering from the same inertia of thinking.

Good for the AI for realising it, but then how could it happen that Person B gets into a boat and crosses the river to join Person A on the other side. It's a load of bollocks!

With respect, Vladimir.

MrBrooklin #:

Well done to the AI for realising, then, how it could happen that Person B gets in a boat and crosses the river to join Person A on the other side. This is bullshit!

Regards, Vladimir.

Well, that's right, A then gets in a boat and swims to the other side. That's it, mission donne, both are now on the other shore.))

The way the AI gave the answer is not clearly interpretable, but the human wants to find confirmation of the correctness of the answer, ignoring the contradictory parts of the answer. I also can't claim that the AI answered correctly, because indeed at one moment both people will be on the same shore. And that would correspond to the moment the second person's boat is received. But I don't know if that's what the AI meant.

Wait a second. The AI wrote the following:

  1. Person A gets into a boat and crosses the river to the other side, leaving Person B on the original side of the river.
  2. Person A gets out of the boat on the other side, and Person B gets in the boat and crosses the river to join Person A on the other side.
  3. Both people are now on the other side of the river and have successfully crossed.

...

If the AI realised that the people were on different banks initially, how could Person B join Person A after crossing the river? The only time they were side by side was when person A first crossed the river in the direction of person B. Then, person B swam off in the opposite direction.

There could not have been any "joining" with person A after person B crossed the river. ??)))
