I agree with him in many respects: both about velosybeds (the lower you sit, the higher you jump) and about long years of deep study of different sciences... (But in my opinion they are needed not for the "main task" - to create a profitable TS, but for the quality implementation of ready-made algorithms in a program code, for a working system.)
But this is true for traders who are interested in programming, not for programmers who are interested in trading.
If the author wants to get better answers, he needs to open a new branch, in which he does not have to ask: - "What are you doing here?", but to ask them to tell their stories of getting to know forex, and what it led to, and what stages they went through....
