Incredibles

Mike the chicken living without a head

A chicken lived headless for a year and a half.

In 1945, American farmer Lloyd Olsen decided to slaughter a chicken for supper. He picked out a rooster in the hen house called Mike, caught it and carried it to the execution. After an unsuccessful, or perhaps successful, axe strike, the man released the decapitated rooster. However, even 20 minutes later the rooster was not dead. This fact puzzled even the veteran farmer.

As it turned out, the man had cut off most of the rooster's head, leaving only one ear, but that did not stop it from surviving. Soon rumours began to circulate about a headless hen. Lloyd fed the rooster from a dropper right down his throat, moreover Mike tried to rake in food on his own. Soon the farmer took the wonder rooster to Utah State University in Salt Lake City so that scientists could investigate this unusual fact of life with most of its head missing.

Sceptical scientists found that the axe blade did little or no damage to the jugular vein, and the resulting blood clot prevented Mike from dying from bleeding. Moreover, the chick still had a large part of the brain stem, which is responsible for reflexes, in addition to one ear, which in turn explains the quite normal behaviour of the rooster after decapitation.

For the next year and a half, the man travelled with the rooster to exhibitions, earning 25 cents per person for the opportunity to contemplate a live headless hen. However, the famous rooster Mike soon died as a result of suffocation, as Lloyd had forgotten to bring a pipette to clean the rooster's airway.

I suggest a separate top for Russian characters. I've seen the character for PC somewhere. And some other one, I can't remember right away.
