Historical data of small timeframes is continued by historical data of larger timeframes. So, for example EURUSD history on M1 ends on ~ 04.01.1999, and the chart calculated on M1 on the left side is attached to D1 for the period till 04.01.1999.
Now correlate "minute bars older than 1999" with the statements made in the comments?
