CCI Expert, not a holly grail, but quite rewarding

Hello everyone,

I posted about a week ago about an indicator I thought was pretty nice. Well I used that indicator and asked someone to program it for me. The results seem very good and pretty interesting.

I am right now running it on a demo account to see how it goes, just right now over the weekend I have changed the settings cancelling out alot of the bad trades that it does. I'm assuming there is a return total of 200-400 pips average per week (40-80 pips per day).

A pretty big downside I found with the old settings was that it made alot of "bad trades" which would most of the time be evening out or a 10 pip loss (which in this case is easy to bring back up). With the new settings I have eliminated more than 75% of all those false alerts.

I hope this will be one of the experts used in the fisherman robot.

Thank you

Gazuz,

Not to sound un-grateful, but I can't seem to get your expert to produce positive results. Perhaps you can help me out to get it to succed.

Steven

I dont trust the backtesting, I made it trading live. I run it on a 1 hour chart EUR/USD with the default settings. For now it has made one trade on January 7th and it is a current profit of 77 pips. It should close when CCI recrosses the 0 bar.

Make sure its a 1 hour chart your running it on and that you are not trying to backtest it.

The backtests on there are completely false, they make outrageous losses that never excited. Most of the losses with CCI with or even out, or lose about 10 pips.

I will be posting my activity log for a whole month to show the results.

Have a good day

I fully agree with you about backtesting problems in MT. It is a well known problem ( still talking and using the 2 -n version ) .

Though, it would be very itneresting to c your system performs. Good luck with it.

I agree that MT Strategy Backtesting returns the completely different result from reality, because it takes hourly bars to backtest not tick data like fxfisherman do.

I just made an activity log page, it can be found on the first post or HERE

One last thing I'd like to add is that once this expert is on the new metatrader (with the faster feed refresh) The spread will be covered just by the difference. 4-5 pips are lost in the old metatrader compared to the new one. In the most recent version the crosses are found sooner (I noticed sometimes as much as one bar before). Just a little heads up so show how (losses evening out) that it is still a profit, maybe not a big one but still a profit.

That's all for now. If anyone catches this soone enough there is a cross right now saying you should buy, lets see if its right *crosses fingers*

The price is moving up! Let's see how long can it go.

Grrr, ive been looking over this and im starting to wonder if the expert is using the correct CCI settings, but I don't know if its working. It's suppose to be Typical Price HLC/3 at 50... And even though it already crosses it didnt make any trades? anyone want to review the code? maybe its programmed with the wrong calculations...

Thanks

EDIT: does anyone know when/if a translator will be out. Turning old files (like the one I have) to work on MT4? My thought is if it does come out its gonna take a while to make to translate to something similar to C++...

I retract my statement about how it was bad that it didn't catch that. It ended up losing 6 pips in the end. But I am still wondering what the expert is using since it doesnt correspond 100% to the indicator.

So I found out the code did not make any trades. I think when SJR3t7 said it didn't make any positive trades, it actually didnt make any trades at all. So I have just posted the mql and exp on the first post and in this one also.

For those of you who are wondering how I noticed that it wasnt just a different setting the code, well it's because I saw a big jump that the CCI caught making 135+ pips and still no trade, so obviously there was something wrong. Once again thank you SJR3t7 for pointing this out.

Good luck to all
