Unlike the rest of the 4 time frame bars this one has one additional option : InheritValues. If it is set to true, than fractals are treated as trends and then all the values from a new fractal are "inherited until an opposite fractal is formed. If it is set to false, then it is showing only the position where a fractal was formed for the first time. Here is an example with inherited values (upper) and non-inherited values (lower) :
Thanks for this one. The last few days watching on charts. This is a winner!
THANKS>>>>>> SOOOOOOO>>>>>> MUCH!!!!!
$ time frame ma crosses (trends) with adjustable period, type and price of moving averages (defaults is the 14,21 EMA of close, but you can change it to whatever you want)
Is it possible to add one more MA .ie 3xMA cross to this great 4 bar indicator?
In a 3 moving averages cross systems, in almost 99,99% of situations the "trend" changes when the slower 2 moving averages cross. Also, coloring all the possible crosses and states of moving averages in relation to each other (6 states in all) would not be possible for 4 time frames - it would be possible to color states only for one "3 moving averages cross" states (due to metatrader 4 limitation of 8 drawing buffers)
Any luck yet
any luck yet, still expecting
Thanks for explanation .
please is there a way for the 4tf ma cross to stop repainting. it seems to be promising
It is a 4 time frame indicator (so it is a multi time frame indicator, as its name is saying)
Multi time frame indicators must update the state of all the bars belonging to target time frame bar and for a long, long time it has been cleared that it is not considered a repainting but a normal multi time frame (current time frame, which does not have to do that + 3 "other" time frames in this case) behavior.
are you invariably saying that a non repainting/updating indicator would update/repaint when coded into MTF
Please examine some more on how multi time frame indicators work and what is considered to be repainting and what is not
Wish you a pleasant weekend
Your dealing with higher tf's which bars have not closed... once the higher tf's have closed there will be no so called "repaint"... One thing I do is use this indi to keep track of the highest tf's close because it is easy for me to forget when an H4 bar will close as an example... so i set this indi to 240min. Maybe this will help you.
