I do not scalp (I am more of a day trader - one of the reasons why I code - while waiting for a position to close

I think that the main problem is that divergence is a subjective category and largely depends on after the fact estimates that usually works OK in ranging markets - trending markets tend to pull you in a trap as far as divergence is concerned.
People are trying to avoid those trap by shifting to higher time frames but than, the lag is only growing and the potential traps are still the same

No problem at all, I am very happy that you are a day trader and not a scalper, otherwise you would have no time to code and wouldn't be making great indicators....
So I will solve this minor problem by my self and let you do your business, like you are doing.
