RR,

What does this mean?

But I updated this EA to have an "enabling period limit"

I meant that the EA now takes a parameter by which you tell how many hours following the sample hour that the EA is to look for entering a trade. After that time, it does not (should not) make any trade until next sample hour.

Though, going by matrixbiz, I've been sloppy again so don't hold your breath.

I think the other EA will work fine ...I will test it...

Interesting; I corrected the time logic, AND tested it so maybe it works now.

Otherwise ES is right; one can use Yang's EA (ZepBeta-TS160rr).

How does this one work? Is there a guide on the settings?

Thanks

I can try to answer questions about the EA...We need to keep RR's time free....he is most excellent at coding breakout systems...

It's all pretty standard stuff...you should control that the BE is smaller than the TS however...I have never tried zeros and I am waiting for the next entry to see if it works on this thread...(you can always change the time if your in a hurry to test)

The time zone has all of the inherint problems that every thread has...everyone uses different dealers with different GMT settings....

The Thread author wanted a bracket of 40 for long and a bracket of 40 for short...that is a span of 80 in total for the gap...

@ralph - I didn't get as much trade success with the Zepplen EA as I do with yours. I have your EA set for Sample Hour=8 and Enable=1 but I get;

2007.11.13 17:56:01 '36891': order buy 0.10 GBPUSD opening at 2.0747 sl: 0.0000 tp: 0.0000 failed [Not enough money]

Not worried about the not enough money thing, just wondering why it's trading at 17:56:01 ??

Thanks

I think the journal time stamp uses site-local time, i.e., your own time and not the broker's time. It's quite confusing.

Ok but also it initiates a trade as soon as I load it on a chart. I loaded it on a chart just now and it placed a trade even though it is out of my set boundaries. I have TZ=2, Sample=8 and Enable=1 and it just placed a trade?? Looks like it's not obeying the entry rules

Can you make it so it waits until then next entry point when you first load it on a chart.

Thanks
