So, I was reading those links as well and created the settings long time ago here https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/178132/page28 and some settings are profitable, som - not very profitable You can check the performance. Or you can create your own settings based on author's explanation and forward testing experience.

Dead end?

Hi all,

I've read most of the thread about alpha. The big hope from the beginning has been replaced by the consciousness that it's a looser. It earns money only in stable conditions and most of the earnings are coming because of the capacity of an account to withstand big dd (i.e. brute force) instead of a real logic or reason (i.e. intelligence).

PET seems to just help in locking some profits before they're lost due to bad logic but there's no protection (other than the equity protection) for entering in a trade the wrong moment.

I'm very confused. Do I understand it right or am I missing something?

PS: this is my first post. Wish I had something more constructive to say.

Well, as with Trading System there's no only one approach/analysis or conclusion.

Hi ftsdcomm,

I am almost agree with you.

Alpha is MTF EA.

Besides, it is hard coded MTF according to my classification.

So, it is not as you selected the settings for MTF (multi-timeframe). MTF was coded inside EA. Hard coded.

You can read here from post #14: https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/178788

Hard coded MTF can be improved in most of the cases. But in case of improvement we will receive EA which will trade just sometimes ... and this improvements depend on our ability to estimate and to predict the market condition.

Because hard coded EAs are proftable in one or 2 market conditions only.

As to account protection so everything is fine in this case:

------------

AccountEquityPercentProtection = 90; // percent of the account Equity left to activate a hard stop loss on a set of trades. (it is related to our DD).

HoursToRestart = 96; // Hours need to restart after a Equity Stop Trigger. (if all the orders were closed by stop loss as AccountEquityPercentProtection so EA will start to trade once again after 96 hours).

EquityTrailing =True; // To enable a equity trail, it will close all orders when equity show profit

PercentEquityTrailing =1; // Percent of profit to start the closure off all the orders.

StopAfterNoTrades =False; // If true we will not open new trades

BreakevenPips =0; // Pips on profit to move SL to Breakeven | 0=Not used.

SpreadProtection =True; // If the spread is widen than normal (News time) we will not open positions or continue positions until it normalize

PipTolerance =2; // value in pips over normal spread to activate the SpreadProtection

----------

So, it is more than enough concerning account/deposit protecton.

It is not bad logic. It is some class of the EAs: MTF EA and most difficult case in MTF - hard coded MTF.

It is logic of hard coded MTF EA.

Best pair for Alpha9

If you were to choose the best 3 pairs to trade this EA which would it be?

Alpari rus broker turned the price from 4 digits to 5 digits at night today. Already turned. So, I am recoding/improving many elite section EAs to work with 5 digits broker.

I will post everything according to request. For example, finish Frank_mod for 5 digits now and so on.

Nomura:
Mr. microlost,

Did you run demo & real accounts in the same time and compared the orders ?

Alpha 9 - S/L

Does Alpha 9 have a built in stop loss? And can it be changed in the settings? It seems there is no S/L on mine.

What are the BEST 3 pairs to use this on?
