Can someone explain what these do and how to use them?
1.Install IBFX MT4
2.Open a mini account with 200:1 and 10000USD
3.Open 3 charts ex. EURUSDm
4.Drag and Drop COpen1 in 1. chart and open the first basket
5.Wait for profit and swaps
6.If the P/L >=+400 pips close first basket(Drag and Drop CClose1 in 1. chart)
7.If the P/L <=-400 pips open the 2. basket(Drag and Drop COpen2 in 2. chart)
8.Wait for P/L and the swap
9.If the P/L >=+400 pips close second basket(Drag and Drop CClose2 in 2. chart)
10.If the P/L <=-400 pips open the 3. basket(Drag and Drop COpen3 in 3. chart)
11.Wait for P/L and the swap
12.If the P/L >=+400 pips close 3. basket(Drag and Drop CClose3 in 3. chart)
Can someone explain what these do and how to use them?
I have done a backtest of the Carry-Trader 13 pairs and the numbers look good in terms of withstanding the JPY unwind. The test does not account for the adds or swap interest. This is a naked test, for the lack of words, to determine how the basket would perform on it's own without intervention. Here are the numbers:
Standard Account: $10,000.00 Lot Size: 0.02 Leverage: 200:1
Test Date: 01.02.2006 - 07.24.2007 (19 Months)
Max DD: -$509.10 (-5%) Date: 07.03.2006
Max DD During February JPY Unwind: +$176.34 (+1.7%)
Max Swing Profit: +$1,137.04 (+11%) Date: 07.23.2007

and the max. used margin: $10000-$9470.78=$529.22

So without going into safe mode one would have seen a 44% drawdown. Assuming you were in safe mode, the risk is much less.
