JB_007:

For ONE of the accounts, the log file for today (5 March 2007) showed the following entires:

15:47:02 'XXXXX': instant order buy 0.10 EURUSD at 1.3142 sl: 1.3058 tp: 1.3184

15:47:03 'XXXXX': request was accepted by server

15:47:03 'XXXXX': request in process

15:47:04 'XXXXX': order was opened : #2062281555 buy 0.10 EURUSD at 1.3142 sl: 1.3058 tp: 1.3184

15:47:04 'XXXXX': instant order buy 0.10 EURUSD at 1.3142 sl: 1.3058 tp: 1.3184

15:47:04 'XXXXX': request was accepted by server

15:47:05 'XXXXX': request in process

15:47:05 'XXXXX': order was opened : #2062281557 buy 0.10 EURUSD at 1.3142 sl: 1.3058 tp: 1.3184

15:51:48 'XXXXX': modify order #2062281557 buy 0.10 EURUSD at 1.3142 sl: 1.3058 tp: 1.3184 -> sl: 1.3142 tp: 1.3184

15:51:49 'XXXXX': request was accepted by server

15:51:50 'XXXXX': order #2062281557 buy 0.10 EURUSD at 1.3142 was modified -> sl: 1.3142 tp: 1.3184

But this still doesn't explain why the order was modified after opening!

I think the order was modified almost 5 minutes later because.

Ask > Open + (SL*point)

When that happens trade two is updated so that the SL is equal to your buy price.

Your buy price in red at 1.3142 is followed by your original sl: 1.3058. Down further is your new sl: 1.3142 .

That's a feature of mode 3 trade 2.

Phoenix *could* manage manually open trades, but it means removing the checks on the Magic Number. Magic Number = EA tracking mechanism.

Edit: Please keep in mind that Mode 3 would not work without a magic number check.

daraknor:

if you would fire up a script and set the parameters like price, mode, tp, sl etc. with the magicnumber hardcoded into the script, this could work.

the downside: it won't be as user friendly as the order entry screen of MT.

AZBOfin

It is true, but I think it is rather odd to use another EA for trade management. I'd rather have an EA dedicated to exit strategies.

Well at 01h15 GMT (21h15 local time) we got a +311 since last friday (totally recover from drop of Monday) and a +200 floating (long usdjpy)

Who can complain ?

(and "big heads" promize us that P6 will be better ! Hu !!!! )

AZBO : same ?

daraknor: Agreed, exit is more important. Right now, Phoenix will open trades that run into good profits only to see them hit the SL.

Berb: After a rough start, Phoenix is running better on my end as well. Although I'm still trying to recover the big losses sustained during late last week and beginning of this week, atleast Phoenix is now making a come back. Go Phoenix Go!
