There seems to be some confusion with MMA too : in January 2000 article "More Responsive Moving Averages" by Joe Sharp, he uses the name "modified moving average" for what is usually known as LSMA at metatrader - a Linear regression value. So, at a moment, I have even less idea which one was the first : MMA or Welles Wilder's variation of EMA
