Gann Toolkit MT4

Gann Toolkit MT4 is an indicator for MetaTrader 4 that draws W.D. Gann's price and time tools from the swings it confirms: Square of 9 levels, Gann fan angles and the Gann box. It also draws the HiLo Activator and swing line of the free Gann HiLo Swing MT4. A multi-symbol HiLo trend table and alerts are included.

MetaTrader 4 edition: the same engine, levels, fan, box, table, inputs, alerts and buffers 0-4 as the MetaTrader 5 version. One input is added: the arrow distance, set as a fraction of ATR, because MetaTrader 4 cannot shift arrows by pixels. The table can use the nine MetaTrader 4 timeframes (M1, M5, M15, M30, H1, H4, D1, W1, MN1).

Quick start

1. Attach the indicator to a chart. The HiLo line, swing line, Square of 9 levels, fan and box appear.
2. Pick the Square of 9 anchor and step (default: latest swing pivot, 45 degrees). Choose "a price I enter" for a fixed anchor.
3. Set the table symbols and timeframes (default: your list of five symbols, M15,H1,H4,D1). Click a cell to open that chart.
4. For alerts, switch on sound, push notification or e-mail in the inputs. The pop-up is on by default.

Standalone: everything is built in. You do not need to buy or install any other product named on this page.

What you see on the chart

• Square of 9 levels (gold) above and below the latest swing low or high, or a price you enter, labelled in degrees.
• Gann fan from the latest swing pivot: 1x8, 1x4, 1x3, 1x2, 1x1, 2x1, 3x1, 4x1, 8x1.
• Gann box over the last swing high and low, divided in eighths and thirds in price and in time.
• HiLo Activator line, swing line and new-trend arrows.
• A table of symbols and timeframes: UP or DOWN, and the closed bars since the last new trend. Click a cell to open that chart.

How the levels are built

• Square of 9: level = (square root of the anchor plus or minus n times the step divided by 180), squared. The price is first scaled to four digits (1.1329 becomes 11329, 4159.28 stays 4159.28). So a 45-degree step is close to 1% of the price on any symbol. A "price in points" option is there too.
• Fan: the 1x1 angle moves at the last completed swing's own speed (its price change divided by its bars), or at a value you set. It runs upward from a swing low and downward from a swing high.
• Box: it spans the last swing high and low. Its time side repeats the swing's length once.
• Swings: the 2-bar swing chart, which is the same engine as Gann HiLo Swing MT4.

Who it is for

This indicator is for traders who use Gann's levels and angles. It draws them the same way on every chart, so you do not place them by hand. If you only need the HiLo trend line, the free Gann HiLo Swing MT4 is enough. The toolkit places no orders.

Inputs

Level spacing

This is the distance from the anchor to the first level above at a 45-degree step, at September 2026 prices. EURUSD is about 0.0169, GBPUSD about 0.0183, USDJPY about 1.99 and XAUUSD about 32. A 90 or 180-degree step gives wider levels.

How it was checked

• In the MetaTrader 4 Strategy Tester, the toolkit matched an independent Python calculation on every bar. That covers the HiLo line, trend, side, new-trend arrows and swing pivots. The test used 25 files: EURUSD, GBPJPY, XAUUSD and BTCUSD on M15, H1 and H4, two settings. It also passed an every-tick repaint test (EURUSD H1, 2026, 8,417,316 ticks, 573 arrows, 0 changed).
• The table: 1,091,874 bar records of its cells matched the same Python calculation. They came from the engine, the loader and a run through the test period: 108 files on M15, H1, H4 and D1, two settings. Cells used only closed bars. Each of the 63,887 table alerts came on the bar that started the new trend.
• The Square of 9, fan and box are redrawn only when a new swing pivot is confirmed on a closed bar.

Alerts and Expert Advisors

Alerts cover a new trend on the chart and a bar closing across a Square of 9 level. They also cover new trends in the table, sent as one message. Pop-up (on), sound, push notification and e-mail are switched separately. Nothing is sent while history loads or in the Strategy Tester.

Buffers: 0 new uptrend, 1 new downtrend, 2 HiLo line, 3 its colour, 4 swing line.

Questions

• Are the levels support and resistance? They are reference prices from Gann's method. Price may react near them or pass through. The indicator does not predict which.
• Why did the levels move? A new swing pivot was confirmed, so the anchor changed. Choose "a price I enter" to keep a fixed anchor.
• Does it repaint? No. Everything comes from closed bars. The drawings change only when a new pivot is confirmed.
• How is it different from Gann HiLo Swing MT4? It uses the same trend engine. The toolkit adds the Square of 9, fan, box, the multi-symbol table and level alerts.
