Gold FVG Finder EA is a selective Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5, designed for trading gold on XAUUSD M15. The strategy is built around Fair Value Gap retests, ATR regime filtering, liquidity sweep confirmation, market structure and controlled risk management.

This EA is not a grid system and it does not use martingale. The main idea is not to open trades every day at any cost. The EA waits for a specific gold market structure where an FVG continuation setup has better conditions.

Main idea

Fair Value Gap logic works better when it is used with context. Gold can be very different from one period to another. Some periods are noisy and mean reverting. Other periods provide stronger volatility, cleaner liquidity sweeps and better continuation after valid FVG setups.

Gold FVG Finder EA was built for the second type of environment. It checks not only the gap itself, but also volatility, session, market structure, sweep context and the possibility of placing a clear stop loss. If the market does not provide the required structure, the EA may trade less. This is expected behavior for a filtered strategy.

Trading and risk

The EA uses a regular trade model with a directional entry, stop loss and take profit. The current publication preset uses fixed lot mode and a defined reward to risk ratio. Additional protection features include break even, ATR trailing, a position limit, a maximum trades per day limit and a consecutive loss guard.

Current publication preset

The publication preset is configured for XAUUSD M15 and the current gold volatility regime. It uses ATR filtering, structure filtering, liquidity sweep filtering and session filtering. This preset was selected as a more filtered and risk-aware configuration, not as the most aggressive version.

Why the main focus is 2026

This EA is a regime-dependent strategy. It performs better when gold provides enough volatility, directional movement and valid continuation after a Fair Value Gap. In the available tests, 2026 was a cleaner environment for the current preset, so it is used as the main demonstration period.

The 2024 and 2025 periods are included as stress checks for different market conditions. In a weaker or less suitable regime, the EA can trade less or produce less impressive results. This is not hidden, because the goal of the strategy is not to force entries in every market. The goal is to wait for the specific structure that the model was designed for.

Backtest information

The main tests were performed on XAUUSD M15 using Every tick based on real ticks. No optimization was used for the publication screenshots. Results can vary depending on quotes, spread, commission, leverage, history quality, symbol specification and broker execution conditions.

Sample result for 2026 on a 1000 USD test deposit:
