BTC Donchian Trend

BTC Donchian Trend is a channel-breakout Expert Advisor for BTCUSD (Bitcoin) on the H4 timeframe, developed by AutoProfit FX. It identifies trend continuation opportunities when price breaks dynamic price channels, combined with trend confirmation and active position management. It does not use martingale, grid, scalping, or arbitrage, and every trade carries a stop loss.

How it works

The EA captures momentum when price breaks dynamic channel ranges. Each entry is validated by a double trend confirmation using a fast and a slow trend filter. Profit-taking is staged, with partial closes at predefined risk-reward levels, and a trailing stop secures gains after the first target. Position sizing adapts to current volatility. The EA trades both long and short to capture moves in either direction, and holds a single position at a time.

Risk management

Risk per trade is 2.0% by default. The stop loss is dynamic and based on ATR. The EA trades in both directions, following the market. Positions are typically held for several days. A stop loss is present on every trade, so the risk is always known in advance.

Backtest results

Backtested on BTCUSD H4 from 2018 to 2026, with a starting balance of 10,000 USD, using the Every Tick Based on Real Ticks model:

Profit Factor: 1.40
Maximum Drawdown: 12.99%
Win Rate: 69%
Total Trades: 353
Average trade duration: 2 to 4 days

These are backtest results, not live trading results. This is a higher-frequency strategy compared with slow trend systems, so expect more trades and more active management. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

Requirements

Symbol: BTCUSD. Timeframe: H4. Account type: ECN or RAW spread preferred. Leverage: 1:100 or higher. Minimum deposit: 1,000 USD, with 3,000 USD or more recommended. A VPS is recommended for uninterrupted operation.

Installation

Attach BTC Donchian Trend to a BTCUSD H4 chart and enable automated trading. The default settings are ready to use. Running on a VPS is recommended for uninterrupted operation.
