Precision Trailing Stop is a dynamic trailing stop indicator that anchors itself to real market structure instead of lagging moving averages or fixed ATR multiples. It identifies key structural price levels on both sides of the market, builds adaptive support and resistance bands, and engages a ratcheting stop that only moves in your favour.
As market structure evolves, outdated levels drop out of the calculation automatically. The result is a trailing stop that stays tight to price action when structure supports it and gives room when it does not.
How It Works
The indicator monitors structural price levels within a configurable lookback window. These levels are averaged and smoothed into two adaptive bands. A support band sits below price and a resistance band sits above. When price closes decisively beyond the opposing band, the trend state flips and the trailing stop engages. In bullish mode the stop ratchets upward only. In bearish mode the stop ratchets downward only. An optional Reset on Cross mode causes the trailing stop to disappear if price violates it, then re-engage on the next qualifying close. Trend flip signals are marked with colour-coded arrows on the chart.
When structure zone drawing is enabled, the indicator places semi-transparent rectangles at each detected structural level on the chart, giving visual confirmation of where the trailing stop anchors originate.
Ghost Terminal Dashboard
The indicator includes a floating dashboard with three tabbed pages. The Live page shows a two-column layout with bullish data on the left and bearish data on the right, separated by a central divider. Each column displays the structural average, the smoothed band value, the trailing stop level for the active side, and a structure count meter. A status row shows the total flip count, bars in the current mode, reset state, and active trend direction. The header changes colour with the current trend state.
The Data page shows all input parameters and live calculation values. The Info page shows the product name, version, and feature summary. The dashboard is DPI-aware and hides automatically during backtesting and optimisation.
Alerts
The indicator fires a pop-up alert when the trend direction changes. Push notifications can be enabled for mobile alerts on every flip. The alert message includes the symbol, timeframe, new direction, and trailing stop level.
Input Parameters
Structure Lookback (default 5) controls the maximum structural levels tracked per side. Smoothing Length (default 9) sets the smoothing period applied to the structural average. Reset on Cross (default Off) causes the trailing stop to reset when price crosses through it. Bullish Color and Bearish Color control all visual elements. Draw Structure Zones (default On) toggles the chart rectangles. Alert on Trend Flip (default On) and Push Notification on Flip (default Off) control alert behaviour. Show Dashboard (default On) toggles the Ghost Terminal HUD. Dashboard X and Y Offset position the dashboard on the chart.
Chart Outputs
The indicator draws a solid bullish trailing stop line visible during uptrends, a solid bearish trailing stop line visible during downtrends, a dotted bullish band line showing adaptive support, a dotted bearish band line showing adaptive resistance, and colour-coded arrows at each trend flip.
Works on all symbols and all timeframes.
