London Sweep and Asian Range is a chart indicator for traders who study session liquidity and intraday price movement. It measures the Asian session range and highlights possible sweeps of that range during a configurable London trading window.
How it works
The indicator tracks the highest and lowest prices recorded during the configured Asian session. Once that session is complete, it draws an outline box around the range and projects the Asian high and low through the London window.
A bearish setup is identified when price trades above the Asian high and the completed candle closes back below that level. A bullish setup is identified when price trades below the Asian low and the completed candle closes back above it. Arrows mark the confirmed sweep candle. Signals are evaluated on closed candles.
Session settings
The default Asian range is 00:00–07:00 and the default London window is 07:00–10:00. These are broker server times, not local or London time. Change the session inputs to match your broker's clock. Broker server offsets and daylight-saving changes can affect the relationship between server time and the London market session.
Filter and risk levels
The optional EMA filter is enabled by default with a period of 200. Long setups are allowed when the signal candle closes above the EMA; short setups are allowed when it closes below it. Disable the filter or change its period in the indicator inputs.
For a marked setup, the stop is placed beyond the high or low of the sweep candle with an ATR-based buffer. The default buffer is 0.20 ATR. The target is calculated from the distance between the signal close and the stop. The default take-profit distance is 2.00 times that risk. Red outline boxes show the stop area, while green outline boxes show the target area. The boxes extend from the signal candle until the stop or target is reached.
The indicator keeps one simulated setup active at a time. It waits for that setup's stop or target to be touched before marking a new entry. Each side of the Asian range can be swept once per session. If the stop and target are both inside the same candle, the stop is treated as reached first.
You can configure the Asian session start and end, the London signal window, EMA and ATR periods, stop buffer, risk-to-reward target, arrow spacing, history scan depth, range display, risk-zone colors and optional alerts. Alerts are disabled by default.
London Sweep and Asian Range is an analytical indicator. It does not open, modify or close trading orders. The entry, stop and target levels are visual calculations based on the signal candle and selected inputs. They are not a promise of execution price or trading results. The product screenshots are illustrative chart diagrams, not backtest results.
