Zolvara — Two-Engine XAUUSD Expert Advisor with Built-in Trade Manager

Zolvara is a fully automated gold trading robot for MetaTrader 5, developed by INFOTECH. It combines two independent gold strategies with a trade manager that protects every position on the chart, including the trades you open yourself.

Each engine holds at most one position at a time. No grid. No martingale. No averaging into losing trades. Every position opens with a stop loss attached, and the risk of every trade is calculated from that stop before it is placed.

The two engines look for different things, so they trade on different days and support each other: one trades breaks of round price levels, the other trades breakouts in the direction of the daily trend.

ENGINE 1: ROUND-LEVEL BREAK

Watches the round 50 levels above and below the current gold price
A level only counts after it has held for at least one hour
Enters when price clears the level by a margin scaled to volatility
Stop loss: 0.5 x daily range. Take profit: 1 x risk
Stop moved just past entry after a small step in profit
Closed before the trading day ends, earlier on Friday

ENGINE 2: DAILY-TREND BREAKOUT

Trades only with the daily trend (20 and 50 day averages)
Waits for an hourly close beyond the previous day's high or low
Entries in the afternoon session only
Stop loss: 0.75 x daily range. Target: 2 x daily range
Trailing stop once the trade is in profit
Held 12 hours at most, never over the weekend

  • Default: 1% per engine, daily loss lock 3%, drawdown lock 10%
  • Growth: 2.5% per engine, daily loss lock 6%, drawdown lock 20% (highest recommended setting)
  • Custom: set your own risk per engine and lock levels
BACKTEST RESULTS

MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester, XAUUSD, 1 January 2021 to 1 October 2026, 99% real ticks, deposit 10,000 USD. These are backtests, not live trading results.

Default: net profit 12,424 USD, profit factor 1.62, max equity drawdown 5.73%, 1,310 trades, 82.4% winning trades
Conservative: net profit 3,905 USD, profit factor 1.62, max equity drawdown 2.19%
Growth: net profit 74,771 USD, profit factor 1.56, max equity drawdown 14.75%
Default by year: 2021 +13.1%, 2022 +11.3%, 2023 +13.4%, 2024 +14.3%, 2025 +23.7%, 2026 (Jan-Sep) +11.2%
All six years profitable. 18 of 69 months were losing months; the worst month was -4.0%.
With a 500 ms execution delay: profit factor 1.59, drawdown 5.66% — a slow broker changes little.

Zolvara wins most trades, but its losing trades are larger than its winning trades. Expect losing weeks and losing months.

RECOMMENDED SETTINGS

Symbol: XAUUSD
Timeframe: any (M15 recommended)
Account: hedging, Raw/ECN low-spread account preferred
Deposit: 10,000 USD for the Default preset, 5,000 USD for the Growth preset
Small accounts: use a cent account (100 USD on a cent account behaves like 10,000 on a standard account)
Leverage: 1:100 or higher
Risk preset: Default
VPS: recommended for uninterrupted 24/5 operation
Always test on demo first, under your own broker's spread, commission and execution conditions.

Why the minimum deposit: the stop loss follows gold's daily range, which roughly doubled in 2025-2026. On smaller standard accounts the smallest lot would risk too much, so the robot skips those signals instead of over-risking.
