I tested this ribbon setup mainly on XAUUSD M1–M5.


What worked best for me was not treating it like a single buy/sell signal, but reading the structure of the ribbon.


When the ribbon starts compressing and overlapping, I avoid entries completely — most false moves happen there.


The good trades usually came when the ribbon slowly opens up and the gap between EMAs starts increasing.

That’s when momentum is actually building, not just a random spike.


I also noticed better accuracy when price respects the ribbon as dynamic resistance/support instead of cutting through it.


I don’t enter immediately on the first color change — I wait for 1–2 candles of confirmation while the ribbon stays aligned.


It’s not a magic signal tool, but it helped me stay out of sideways gold markets, which was my biggest problem before.
