The Core Strategy: How It Works
Gold is known for its explosive moves during specific trading sessions. SessionBreakout Gold capitalises on this by identifying the consolidation range just before the session opens and positioning itself to catch the explosive breakout.
- Range Calculation: At the start of the defined trading session, the EA calculates the High and Low of the previous N bars (default: 8 bars on M15) to establish a precise consolidation zone.
- Smart Trend Filter: To avoid false breakouts, the EA uses a higher timeframe trend filter (H1 EMA). It will only place a Buy Stop if the price is above the EMA and a Sell Stop if below. (Can be toggled off for pure breakout trading).
- OCO Execution: Pending Buy Stop and Sell Stop orders are placed simultaneously. The moment one triggers, the EA instantly cancels the opposite pending order (one-cancels-other logic).
- Dynamic ATR Management: Stop Loss, Take Profit, and Trailing Stops are all dynamically calculated using the Average True Range (ATR), adapting to Gold's changing volatility in real-time.
Institutional-Grade Risk Management
We know that protecting your downside is just as important as capturing the upside. SessionBreakout Gold is built with a "Capital First" philosophy:
- Dynamic Lot Sizing: Risk a fixed percentage of your balance per trade. The EA automatically calculates the exact lot size based on your ATR Stop Loss distance.
- Daily Circuit Breaker: Set a Max Daily Loss %. If the market turns against you and hits your daily limit, the EA stops trading until the next day.
- Trade Frequency Limit: Restrict the EA to a maximum number of trades per day to prevent overtrading in choppy conditions.
- Spread Protection: Gold spreads can widen during rollover or news. The EA includes a Max Spread Filter and will refuse to open trades if the spread exceeds your safety threshold.
