Gold Trend Fractals is a complete, self-contained trading system for XAUUSD. It reads the market structure left by fractals: when gold keeps printing higher highs, or lower lows, it places a pending order at the structure level and lets the move come to it.
It does not guess tops and bottoms, and it does not average into losses. It waits for the structure to show strength, then acts, with a trend-strength filter and a weekday filter removing many weak setups. Every trade has a protective stop and a defined target from the moment it is placed. You choose one of four lot steps, and the rest is handled for you.
Tested on trending gold. The results below come from a 2024 to 2026 gold window of strong directional moves. The EA follows the market's own structure and direction.
MAIN ADVANTAGES
- Structure-based entries. Orders are placed at real market structure levels, not at arbitrary prices.
- Four lot steps, each backtested on its own. Three manual steps, Low (0.01 lot), Medium (0.05) and High (0.10), and one automatic step, Auto, which grows the lot with your equity. A guide deposit is published for each step.
- Clean on-chart panel. Status, risk level, lot, open position, pending orders and an equity check, in a compact card that stays below the chart header.
- Enough trades to see it at work. Roughly 15 trades a month, about 420 in the test window.
- Built-in brakes. A daily loss limit, an equity drawdown brake and a cap of two open positions and two pending orders.
- Careful execution. The EA asks your broker which order filling mode is supported, checks margin, volume, stop distance, quote freshness and market hours before every order, retries a failed order a limited number of times and removes its own stale pending orders.
- No martingale, no grid, no averaging down.
TEST RESULTS
Strategy Tester, XAUUSD, H1, real ticks, hedging account, broker spread included. Window: 2024.04.11 to 2026.07.22, 417 to 420 trades. Low, Medium and High from a 10,000 USD start, Auto from a 2,500 USD start.
- Low (0.01 lot): profit factor 1.81, net +3,161 USD, largest equity drawdown 463 USD, guide deposit 1,000 USD.
- Medium (0.05 lot): profit factor 1.81, net +15,804 USD, largest equity drawdown 2,317 USD, guide deposit 5,000 USD.
- High (0.10 lot): profit factor 1.81, net +31,225 USD, largest equity drawdown 4,633 USD, guide deposit 10,000 USD.
- Auto (0.01 to 0.10, scales with equity): profit factor 1.84, net +21,128 USD, largest equity drawdown 4,966 USD, guide deposit 1,000 USD.
Auto sets the lot from your equity (about 0.01 lot per 1,000 USD of account, reaching 0.05 at 5,000 USD and the 0.10 cap at 10,000 USD), so the lot grows as your account grows. The guide deposit is the account size where the largest drawdown measured in testing stays within 50 percent of the account. It helps you choose the step that fits your account.
These are Strategy Tester results for the window shown. Take your time to learn how the EA behaves, test it on a demo account first and in the Strategy Tester, and enjoy exploring it.
BUILT-IN BRAKES
- Daily loss limit: if equity falls 3 percent below the day's starting balance, the EA removes its waiting orders and stops opening trades until the next day. Open trades keep their stop and target.
- Drawdown brake: if equity falls 25 percent below its highest point, new entries pause until equity recovers to within 20 percent.
- Position limits: at most two open positions and two pending orders at any time.
The panel shows DAILY LIMIT or DRAWDOWN BRAKE while a brake is active.
RECOMMENDED SETUP
- Symbol: XAUUSD (the name may differ at your broker, for example GOLD).
- Timeframe: any chart works, the EA always reads H1 internally. An H1 chart is recommended.
- Account type: works on hedging and netting accounts. A hedging account is recommended: on netting accounts same-direction orders merge into one position, so results can differ noticeably from the tests, especially with Auto.
- Start on a demo account. The default step is Low. Move up a manual step when the account has grown past its guide deposit, or choose Auto and let the lot follow your equity.
- A VPS is recommended for continuous operation. No DLL and no WebRequest are used.
INPUTS
The EA has three settings:
- Risk level: Low, Medium, High or Auto.
- Magic number: the identifier the EA puts on its orders.
- Enable trading: turn it off to stop placing new orders.
FREQUENT QUESTIONS
What does Auto do? Auto sets the lot from your current equity, about 0.01 lot per 1,000 USD, never below 0.01 and never above 0.10. As the account grows the lot grows with it, and if the account shrinks the lot shrinks.
Is a 500 USD account enough? The EA will run on it at the Low step, but the guide deposit for Low is 1,000 USD. Below the guide the panel shows 'Below 1000' and the drawdown risk is higher. The EA does not block trading, it tells you.
Is there a live signal? Not yet. The figures shown are Strategy Tester results.
Why does my backtest differ from the numbers above? Use XAUUSD, H1, Every tick based on real ticks, the same date range, the same start deposit and a hedging account. A different broker's price history, spread and swap can change results.
RISK DISCLAIMER
Trading leveraged products such as gold CFDs carries a high level of risk and can result in the loss of your capital. Backtest results do not guarantee future results. Test the EA on a demo account first, and only trade with capital you can afford to lose.
