Colored TMA Trend Signals
A familiar triangular moving average (TMA) that colours with the trend, framed by optional Bollinger-style bands, with clear on-chart signals. Analysis tool only — it does not open or manage trades, and profit is not guaranteed.
On the chart
- Colored TMA — green when rising, red when falling, grey when flat.
- Bands — TMA ± a standard-deviation envelope (show or hide).
- Colour-change marks — small triangles when the TMA flips direction.
- Extra BUY / SELL signals — a separate confirmation when price closes beyond the TMA (or the outer band) for N bars in a row (default: 3). These are in addition to the colour change — not the same thing as “buy/sell on every colour flip.”
Optional filters (on by default): BUY only with a green TMA / SELL only with red; one trade signal per colour section.
How you can use it (setup ideas)
The indicator does not trade for you — you choose what to act on. Common approaches:
1. All signals together — watch TMA colour changes, BUY/SELL labels, and price vs the bands.
2. Colour-change only — early read of the average flipping (triangles on the TMA).
3. Confirmed BUY / SELL only — stricter entries after N closes beyond the TMA (or the band).
4. Band break / trend acceleration — when price pushes outside the Bollinger-style band while the TMA already shows a coloured trend (set Break Level to Bands for that style).
Combine filters and alerts to match your style; this is not a complete trading system.
How the TMA is built
TMA here is two equal-length SMAs in a row (smooth, no future bars). Effective length: Half Length × 2 − 1 (default Half Length 12 → 23).
