Momentum Rider — Trend Entry System (MT4)
Momentum Rider is a trade-entry signal indicator for MetaTrader 4. It scans the market for momentum and trend-aligned entries across multiple symbols and multiple timeframes, and displays a complete trade plan on the chart: entry price, Stop-Loss, and four Take-Profit targets (TP1–TP4).
Note for MetaTrader 4 users. Because of a MetaTrader 4 platform limitation, the on-chart trend cloud (zone cloud) and the trend-coloured candles are not drawn on MT4 — those particular visuals rely on a chart-rendering style that exists only on MetaTrader 5. This does not change how the indicator trades. The trend and momentum engine still runs in full: entries, Stop-Loss, the four Take-Profit targets, the trend-alignment filter, the multi-symbol scanner, the signal arrows, the SL/TP lines, the risk and reward zones, and the win-rate panel all work exactly as described. Only the decorative trend-cloud overlay is absent. On MetaTrader 5 the trend cloud is shown.
Main features
Multi-timeframe and multi-symbol scanning. A built-in scanner sweeps your symbol list (from Market Watch or a custom comma-separated list) across the M1 to D1 timeframes and marks the cells where a fresh signal appears, so you can review many instruments from a single table instead of switching charts manually.
A complete plan for each signal. Every signal includes an exact entry, a Stop-Loss, and four Take-Profit targets, pre-calculated from ATR and R-multiples, so the levels are defined before you place the order.
Trend and momentum filtering. A dual Heikin-Ashi and SMA engine defines the trend direction; the indicator takes pullback and breakout entries only in that direction, filtering out counter-trend signals.
Non-repainting signals. Signals print at the candle close and do not repaint, so backtest behavior reflects what you see in live operation.
On-chart statistics. A win-rate panel shows the hit rate for each TP level, net pips, and signal counts, helping you compare symbols and timeframes and fine-tune your targets.
Recommended trading conditions
Use the H1 timeframe or higher (H1, H4, D1) for steadier signals with less noise. M5 and M15 are suited only to strong, clear trends and require tighter risk management (smaller lots, disciplined stops, fewer trades), because lower timeframes are noisier.
Favor high-liquidity symbols: XAUUSD (Gold) as the primary instrument, along with the forex majors EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDJPY, AUDUSD, USDCAD, and USDCHF. Exotic or wide-spread pairs are best avoided because their signals are less reliable.
The tool tends to perform better during the US (New York) session, with the most active window during the London–New York overlap (roughly 12:00–17:00 GMT, shifting with daylight saving). The quieter Asian session and high-impact news events are best limited.
Input reference
Quick start group:
Run the multi-timeframe scanner (default ON) — enable the multi-timeframe / multi-symbol scanner.
Show the signal table on the chart (default ON) — display the scanner grid on the chart.
Send signals to a compatible Expert Advisor (default OFF) — publish signals through a shared magic number.
Magic number used when publishing signals (default 920608) — the identifier used when publishing.
Only take entries aligned with the trend (default ON) — keep only signals aligned with the trend direction.
Show SL / TP lines (default ON) — draw the Entry, SL, and TP lines.
Shade risk and reward zones (default ON) — shade the risk zone red and the reward zone green.
Show the trend cloud (default ON) — green for up, red for down. (Drawn on MetaTrader 5 only; has no visual effect on MT4.)
Recolour candles by trend (default OFF) — tint candles by trend. (Drawn on MetaTrader 5 only; has no visual effect on MT4.)
Show the win-rate panel (default OFF) — display the statistics panel.
Signal and trend group:
Fast trend speed (default 3) — smaller is more responsive.
Slow trend speed (default 20) — larger is smoother.
Main trend line length in bars (default 50) — the main SMA length.
ATR length for SL/TP sizing in bars (default 14).
Minimum break past swing in ATR multiples (default 0.1) — price must break the swing by at least this multiple to qualify; 0 turns the filter off.
History bars to analyze (default 3000) — lower this on a weaker PC.
Targets (SL / TP / Trail) group:
SL method (default ATR) — ATR or Donchian.
SL distance as ATR × value (default 3.0) — larger gives a wider stop.
Donchian channel length (default 20) — used only when SL = Donchian.
TP1 = risk × value (default 0.5).
TP2 = risk × value (default 1.0).
TP3 = risk × value (default 2.0).
TP4 = risk × value (default 3.0).
Here, risk (R) is the distance from Entry to Stop-Loss. R-multiple targets give a clear reward-to-risk ratio. Set a value to 0 to disable that TP.
Scanner group:
Scan this chart's symbol (default ON).
Scan all Market Watch symbols (default ON) — uses more CPU.
Custom symbols as a comma-separated list (default empty) — for example XAUUSD,EURUSD; leave empty to use the switches above.
Scan M1 / M5 / M15 / M30 / H1 / H4 / D1 — enable or disable each timeframe (M1 and D1 are OFF by default, the rest ON).
Bars to search for the latest signal (default 150).
Show only symbols with a live signal (default ON).
Alerts group:
Master alert switch (default ON) — covers chart entries and the scanner.
Pop-up alert (default ON).
Sound alert (default ON).
Phone push alert (default OFF) — sends to the MetaTrader mobile app; requires a MetaQuotes ID to be configured.
Appearance group:
Colors for the BUY and SELL arrows, the SL line, the TP lines, the Entry line, and the risk and reward zone shading. (The trend-cloud and candle-recolour styling is applied on MetaTrader 5 only.)
Recommended defaults: for XAUUSD on H1, keeping the defaults is a sensible starting point.
Design notes
The indicator uses no martingale and no grid, and signals do not repaint. Each signal is a defined setup with risk capped by a fixed Stop-Loss. It is a decision-support tool, not a predictor of future prices.
You can download the free demo and run it in the Strategy Tester in Visual mode to watch the scanner and the trade plan work on historical data before purchasing.
