SJ Gold Breakout EA is a breakout expert advisor for XAUUSD (Gold). It finds key swing highs and lows and places buy stop and sell stop orders to catch strong breakout moves. It includes several built-in strategy presets, automatic lot sizing, drawdown protection and news filters. It does not use martingale or grid trading. Every trade has a stop loss and take profit.

Backtesting:

  • Symbol: XAUUSD
  • Timeframe: H1
  • Model: "Every tick based on real ticks" is recommended for accurate results
  • The High-Impact  filter work in live trading only; the NFP filter also works in the tester
  • The dashboard is hidden during normal backtests, so testing speed is not affected

Setup:

  1. Attach the EA to an XAUUSD H1 chart.
  2. Recommended minimum capital is $500.
  3. Enable Algo Trading.
  4. For the news filters, add https://nfs.faireconomy.media to Tools → Options → Expert Advisors → Allow WebRequest.
  5. Set the broker's GMT offsets, or keep AutoGMT = true.
  6. Use a VPS for stable 24/5 operation.

Parameters:

  • Preset Selection: Gold Breakout / Scalping Gold Breakout / Propfirm
  • Use Lot method: Auto Lot / StartLot / Max Risk
  • StartLots: fixed lot size when StartLot is selected
  • Max Risk: risk level per strategy
  • MaxSpread: maximum allowed spread
  • Enable Friday stop / Friday stop hour: close trades before the weekend
  • Magicnumber: unique ID for the EA's trades
  • AutoGMT / GMT Winter / GMT Summer: broker time settings
  • Max Allowed TOTAL Drawdown: drawdown limit for the Gold and Scalping presets
  • Propfirm: Max Allowed TOTAL / DAILY Drawdown: drawdown limits for the Propfirm preset
  • High-Impact / NFP / FOMC filters: on/off for each news filter
  • News calendar source: URL of the news feed
  • Show on-chart dashboard panel: on/off
