Trend continuation after the pullback — on XAUUSD H4.
GoldTrendResume is an MT5 Expert Advisor for traders who want a single, transparent trend-resumption process rather than constant activity. Its reference setup reads completed XAUUSD H4 bars, uses EMA structure to define trend and pullback, and expresses stop distance and sizing through ATR.
Who it is for
Traders looking for a medium-frequency gold system with both long and short signals, broker-side protection and a fixed H4 decision process. It is not designed as a scalper, grid, martingale or recovery system.
How it works
- Read completed XAUUSD H4 bars with EMA 30/120 and ATR(20).
- Wait for a pullback that stays on the trend side of the slow EMA.
- Enter when the next completed bar resumes through the fast EMA.
- Use a 2.0 ATR stop, 2.0R target and equity-risk sizing.
Historical Strategy Tester evidence
The reference evidence is historical MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester simulation on MetaQuotes-Demo, model 1, virtual USD 10,000 and 1.00% risk. The IS and OOS windows are separate.
| Window | Period | Net result | Trades | Profit factor | Max balance DD |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| In-sample | 2020-01-01 to 2024-12-31 | USD +1,143.27 | 143 | 1.14 | 13.02% |
| Out-of-sample | 2025-01-01 to 2026-10-03 | USD +1,139.09 | 46 | 1.57 | 5.68% |
The IS curve was not positive every year: 2020 was USD -357.93 and 2021 was USD -227.78. The OOS aggregate was positive through October 3, 2026. Those weaker periods are part of the reference, not removed from it.
The historical evidence used 1.00% risk. The interface allows 0.10%–10.00%, including 5% and 10%, but those higher settings were not measured in the published historical results and can materially increase drawdown and loss.
Costs and execution limits
The reference net figures come from the retained native reports. Separate commission, swap and fee totals are not presented as a portable broker-cost model. XAUUSD spread, swap, tick value, contract size, margin, stops level and minimum volume can differ by broker.
The reference curves belong to an XAUUSD H4 host. Other host charts can produce different callback timing, so identical trade timing or P&L is not promised. Recent diagnostic replays are not used to replace the historical scientific figures shown here.

FAQ
Does it trade both directions?
Yes. The reference logic has symmetric long and short trend-resumption conditions.
Does it need XAUUSD H4 as the host chart?
Use XAUUSD H4 when reproducing the published reference. The EA can route to its configured XAUUSD target, but different host ticks can change exact execution timing.
Is 5–10% risk validated?
No. The interface accepts it, but the displayed historical evidence used 1.00% risk.
Does it use grid or martingale?
No. The reference process uses one strategy position, a protective stop and a fixed reward target.
Are the results live trading?
No. They are historical MT5 Strategy Tester simulations and do not guarantee future performance.
Before renting
Use the Market demo and Strategy Tester with your broker first. Check the exact symbol, spread, contract specification, sessions and order sizing before starting the one-month rental.
