HigherTF Background Candle draws higher timeframe candlesticks directly on your chart background, giving you instant multi-timeframe context without switching charts.
═══ KEY FEATURES ═══
- Background HTF Candles: Renders Open/High/Low/Close of any higher timeframe as colored rectangles behind your price action.
- Instant TF Switching: Press keys 1-9 to switch between M1, M5, M15, M30, H1, H4, D1, W1, MN1. Press 0 to hide.
- Auto-Promotion: If the selected TF is equal to or lower than the chart TF, it automatically promotes to the next higher timeframe.
- Breakout Detection: Detects when the chart bar's confirmed Close breaks above the High or below the Low of the previous confirmed HTF bar.
- Arrow Signals: Up/Down arrows mark the exact chart bar where the breakout occurred. One signal per direction per HTF period.
- HTF High/Low Lines: Horizontal reference lines from the previous HTF bar's High and Low, with labels.
- Real-Time Update: The forming HTF candle updates on every tick (configurable).
- Alerts: Popup, push notification, and email alerts with cooldown timer.
═══ BREAKOUT LOGIC ═══
Reference levels: High and Low of the last N confirmed HTF bars (default N=1).
Trigger: Chart bar's confirmed Close exceeds the reference level.
Rules: Each direction fires at most once per HTF period. Triggers reset on new HTF bar.
Benefit: Using confirmed Close only reduces false signals from wick spikes.
═══ CANDLE STYLE OPTIONS ═══
Three body modes: Filled, Border-only, or Dimmed (fill + border overlay).
Two wick modes: Trendline or thin Rectangle.
Full color customization for bull/bear/doji bodies, wicks, and borders.
═══ USAGE EXAMPLES ═══
Scalping (M1/M5 chart): Set HTF to H1 or H4 for market context.
Day Trading (M15-H1 chart): Set HTF to H4 or D1 for previous session range.
Swing Trading (H4/D1 chart): Set HTF to W1 or MN1 for weekly/monthly structure.
═══ PARAMETERS ═══
General:
- Initial Timeframe: HTF shown on startup (default H1)
- Max Candles: Number of HTF candles to draw (default 100)
- Realtime Update: Update forming candle on every tick (default true)
Candle Colors:
- Bull/Bear/Doji body, wick, and border colors are all independently configurable
Candle Style:
- Body Mode: Filled / Border / Dimmed (default Dimmed)
- Wick Mode: Trendline / Rectangle (default Rectangle)
- Wick width, border style, border width
Signal & Line:
- Mode: OFF or Chart TF Close (default OFF)
- N-Bar Count: Number of HTF bars for reference range (default 1)
- Arrow colors and size
- HTF High/Low line colors, forward extension, label font size
Keyboard Shortcuts:
- Keys 1-9 mapped to M1-MN1 (key codes configurable)
- Key 0 hides all
Alerts:
- Popup, Push, Email (individually toggleable)
- Cooldown timer (default 300 seconds)
Arrow Offset:
- Distance in points between arrow and candle (default 100)
