Silver Lining is a MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor developed for XAGUSD, combining two distinct trading approaches: Structure Sweep and Recovery and Bearish Trend Resumption.
It looks for confirmed bullish recoveries and renewed bearish momentum, with automated position sizing, structure-based stop losses, and engine-specific trailing stops.

Structure Sweep and Recovery
Designed to identify bullish opportunities after price sweeps below a recent structural low and recovers above it.
The engine requires a strong rejection followed by a bullish candle closing above the rejection candle’s high. Sweep depth is measured against recent candle ranges, helping the setup respond to changing market movement.
Bearish Trend Resumption
Designed to identify selling opportunities when a strong downward move on the H1 timeframe is followed by a temporary recovery and renewed selling pressure.
The engine combines hourly context with a bearish trigger candle closing near its low, aligning the entry with a confirmed return of downward momentum.
Each engine can be enabled independently.

Both engines evaluate completed candles before opening a trade. Entries follow defined price-action conditions, using market structure, candle strength, and relative price movement.
Structure-Based Protection
Every entry includes a stop loss positioned beyond the relevant price structure, with a configurable buffer.
Choose between percentage-of-equity risk and a fixed monetary risk amount. Position size is calculated from the selected risk setting and the distance to the stop loss, subject to volume constraints.
Trailing Stops Tailored to Each Engine
Each engine has its own configurable trailing activation threshold, measured relative to the trade’s initial stop distance.
Once activated, the stop follows the previous completed candle’s low for buys or high for sells. It only moves in the direction that tightens protection, allowing the exit to follow developing price action.
Controlled Exposure
Silver Lining manages one position at a time per symbol and magic number. It uses no grid or martingale logic.
Built-in trading-day controls and broker-session buffers govern new entries. Automatic Friday closing is designed to reduce weekend exposure by closing managed positions ahead of the broker’s final session close.
