Pivot Point Strategy EA is a rule-based, fully automated system for MetaTrader 5. Every day it calculates pivot levels from the previous daily candle and trades price movement around those levels. It was designed and tested on XAUUSD (Gold) on the M1 timeframe.

How it works

• At the start of each day, the EA calculates seven levels: the main Pivot (P), three resistances (R1–R3) and three supports (S1–S3).
• It keeps track of which side of each level price is on. A trade opens only when price crosses a level, not while price sits beside it.
• Depending on the level, the EA trades a breakout, a reversal, a cross of the main pivot, or a bounce off support.
• The take profit is normally the next pivot level in the direction of the trade. At the outermost levels (R3 buy, S3 sell) it is a multiple of the stop distance.
• Only one position is open at a time. Each trade has a stop loss and a take profit from the moment it opens.
• The pivot levels are drawn on the chart.

Pivot methods: Standard, Fibonacci (default), Camarilla, Woodie's.

Stop loss options

• Fixed points
• Percentage of the previous day's range (scales automatically with each symbol)
• Multiple of the daily ATR

Money management

• Fixed lot, or lot size calculated from a chosen % of equity risked per trade
• Automatic lot rounding to the broker's step and limits
• Margin check before every order (lot reduced or trade skipped if margin is insufficient)
• Checks that stop loss and take profit respect the broker's minimum stop distance

Optional filters and protection (each can be switched off)

• Entry buffer to reduce false signals right at a level
• Cooldown after a losing trade
• Maximum spread filter
• Breakeven and trailing stop
• Daily loss limit and stop after N consecutive losses
• Quiet-day filter based on the previous day's range
• Order retry back-off, so failed orders are not resent on every tick

Recommendations

• Symbol: XAUUSD | Timeframe: M1
• Account: low-spread or ECN-type account; hedging and netting accounts are both supported
• A VPS with a stable connection is recommended
• Always test on a demo account first, and test with realistic execution delay in the Strategy Tester
