HydraGrid EurUsd Scalping System with Built-In Capital Protection

HydraGrid EurUsd is an automated trading system developed for the EURUSD currency pair on the MetaTrader 5 platform. The Expert Advisor operates two independent trading modules—one for buy positions and one for sell positions—allowing it to manage trades in both market directions simultaneously.

Strategy Overview

The Expert Advisor utilizes a mathematical grid model designed to close positions as a unified basket rather than individual trades:

- Dual Independent Modules: Long and short positions are managed on separate magic numbers. Each direction calculates its own position sizing and target levels independently.
- Volume-Weighted Average Price (VWAP) Calculation: When multiple positions are opened in a sequence, the system calculates the volume-weighted
break-even level of the basket and sets a unified take-profit target relative to this average price.
- Bar-Close Synchronization: Market evaluations and grid additions are restricted to the opening of a new bar on the selected timeframe. The system does not execute on every tick.
- Emergency Equity Cutoff: An internal risk limit monitors account equity. If floating drawdown reaches the pre-configured 70% threshold, the Expert Advisor liquidates open positions to help preserve the remaining 30% account equity.
- Execution Watchdog: Take Profit levels are sent directly with order requests where supported, and an internal timer verifies that all positions maintain synchronized exit targets.

Input Parameters

General Settings

- ExecutionMode: Operational choice between MODE_BI_DIRECTIONAL (both directions on one chart), MODE_BUY_ONLY, or MODE_SELL_ONLY.
- Equity_protection: Enables or disables the internal 70% equity protection protocol.
- TradeCommentPrefix: Custom text label assigned to order comments.
- StartTrade: Hour to begin scanning for initial trade entries (0–23 server time).
- EndTrade: Hour to cease scanning for initial trade entries (0–23 server time).

Grid and Volume Settings

- Lots: Initial volume for the first position of a cycle.
- TP: Target profit distance in pips added to the volume-weighted average price.
- LotAdder: Volume scaling factor applied to subsequent grid positions.
- MaxLevel: Upper limit on the number of positions per direction.

System Identification

- MagicBuy: Unique identifier for buy positions.
- MagicSell: Unique identifier for sell positions.

Recommended Configuration

- Symbol: EURUSD (Standard, Raw, Cent, and Micro accounts supported).
- Account Type: Hedging accounts only (Netting accounts are not supported).
- Base Timeframe: H1 is the primary recommended timeframe.

Capital and Timeframe Recommendations

The chosen chart timeframe influences the frequency of trade entries:

- $200 – $1,000 (or equivalent Cent account balance): H4 Timeframe
- $2,000 – $4,000 (or equivalent Cent account balance): H1 Timeframe
- $5,000 – $10,000: M30 Timeframe
- $11,000 – $16,000: M15 Timeframe

Strategy Tester Instructions

To test the Expert Advisor in the Strategy Tester:

- Model: Every tick based on real ticks
- Symbol: EURUSD
- Period: H1
- Deposit: Minimum $2,000 for standard currency accounts, or 5,000 units on cent configurations.
- Account Type: Hedging

Technical Requirements

- A reliable Virtual Private Server (VPS) with low latency to your broker server is recommended for continuous operation.
- For optimal execution, use a broker environment with average EURUSD spreads of 1.0 pip or lower.
