Major Reckoning
Three major FX pairs. Multiple independent price-action engines. One EA.
Major Reckoning is a multi-engine MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor built specifically for EURUSD, GBPUSD and USDJPY.
Instead of forcing one strategy across every market, Major Reckoning treats each pair independently. Each symbol uses its own combination of price-action engines, its own risk settings, its own spread limits and its own trade logic.
The result is a system designed to adapt to the different behaviour of the three major currency pairs rather than pretending they all move the same way.
One EA. Three Major Markets.
Major Reckoning can operate in different pair modes.
Single Pair trades the supported pair of the chart where the EA is attached.
Attach it to GBPUSD and select Single Pair, and it trades GBPUSD.
Attach it to USDJPY and select Single Pair, and it trades USDJPY.
Three Pairs allows one EA instance to manage:
- EURUSD
- GBPUSD
- USDJPY
There is no need to attach three separate copies of the EA when multi-pair mode is used.
Multiple Trading Engines Working Together
Major Reckoning is not built around one entry pattern.
It contains several independent price-action engines, each designed to identify a different type of market behaviour.
These include:
- Pressure Reversal
- Momentum Break
- Structure Recovery
- Downtrend Resumption
- Uptrend Resumption
- Rally Rejection
Each currency pair uses its own optimized combination of these engines.
Some engines may be active on EURUSD but disabled on USDJPY. Others may perform better on GBPUSD.
This pair-specific architecture allows each market to keep its own personality.
Price Action First
Major Reckoning focuses on structured price behaviour rather than stacking large numbers of indicators on the chart.
The trading logic looks at areas such as:
- momentum
- pressure
- reversals
- structural recovery
- continuation
- rejection
- market direction
The objective is to react to what price is doing rather than simply waiting for a collection of lagging signals to agree.
Individual Risk Control For Every Pair
Major Reckoning allows risk to be managed independently for EURUSD, GBPUSD and USDJPY.
Two position-sizing modes are available:
Fixed Lot
The EA trades the lot size selected by the user.
Risk Money
The EA calculates position size from the actual stop-loss distance and the selected monetary risk.
For example, if Risk Money is set to 15, the EA attempts to size the position so the stop-loss risk is approximately 15 account-currency units.
This allows each pair to use consistent monetary risk even when stop distances differ.
An optional Maximum Portfolio Risk can also be used when multiple pairs are active at the same time.
Intelligent Trade Management
Major Reckoning includes more than just entry logic.
Trades are managed using structured stop placement, trailing-stop control and optional Impulse Profit Protection.
Impulse Profit Protection monitors unusually strong price movement after entry.
When a strong move develops and then begins to retrace, the EA can protect the profit rather than allowing a large part of the impulse to disappear.
Only one active position per pair is allowed at any time.
Spread Protection Built For Each Market
EURUSD, GBPUSD and USDJPY do not behave identically when it comes to spread.
Major Reckoning therefore uses separate spread limits for each pair.
If current spread exceeds the configured limit, the EA blocks new entries until conditions improve.
The integrated spread panel also allows spread behaviour to be viewed directly on the chart.
Economic News Protection
Major Reckoning includes an optional economic news filter designed to prevent new trades around selected scheduled economic events.
The integrated News Events panel displays upcoming events directly inside the EA interface.
The news panel can be shown or hidden at any time.
During normal trading, the EA can use the configured economic calendar source to monitor upcoming events.
For the external news source, MetaTrader 5 WebRequest permission must be enabled for:
The EA can also use the MT5 economic calendar where supported.
Important Strategy Tester Note
Live economic news data is not available inside the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester.
This is a limitation of the testing environment, not a failure of the EA.
During visual backtesting, Major Reckoning clearly identifies that live news data is unavailable.
The trading strategy itself can still be tested normally.
Integrated Control Panel
Major Reckoning includes a full visual dashboard designed to give the trader useful information without cluttering the chart.
The panel displays:
- Current trading status
- Broker and session information
- Monthly completed trades
- Monthly realized profit or loss
- Current floating profit or loss
- Pair activity
- Weekly trade count per pair
- News status
- Spread monitoring
- Monthly realized performance
Separate panels can be shown or hidden directly from the interface.
This includes:
- News
- Spread
- Monthly Performance
During visual backtesting, the performance and spread panels can be monitored while the strategy is running.
Monthly Performance Tracking
Major Reckoning tracks realized performance for the current calendar month.
The performance graph shows how realized profit or loss develops through the month and provides a quick visual indication of whether the EA is progressing smoothly or experiencing a drawdown period.
This information is calculated across all active pairs managed by the EA.
Trading Schedule Control
Major Reckoning includes an internal trading schedule to prevent new setups during selected periods.
Trading hours can be adjusted through the inputs, including a separate Friday cut-off.
Existing positions remain under trade management even when new entries are no longer allowed.
Built For Real Trading Conditions
Major Reckoning includes practical protections designed for real broker environments.
These include:
- Spread protection
- Margin checks
- Stop validation
- Symbol-specific handling
- Pair-specific magic numbers
- Position control
- Trade scheduling
- News filtering
- Portfolio risk control
The objective is not simply to produce attractive historical trades, but to create a structured EA that behaves predictably when deployed across multiple major pairs.
Backtesting And Forward Testing
Backtests are useful for studying strategy behaviour, but they are not a guarantee of future performance.
Live trading conditions can differ because of:
- spreads
- execution
- slippage
- liquidity
- broker conditions
- changing market behaviour
For this reason, forward testing on demo or small-risk conditions is strongly recommended before increasing exposure.
Risk Warning
Trading foreign exchange involves substantial risk.
Major Reckoning does not guarantee profits.
Historical performance, optimization results and Strategy Tester results do not guarantee future trading results.
Losing trades and losing periods are a normal part of systematic trading.
Users should select risk settings appropriate for their own account size, broker conditions and tolerance for loss.
